We Are Witnesses

We Are Witnesses

We can weep over America and yell in The Halls of Government, but nothing will change its downward trajectory until they listen to the witness. We are witnesses. With our last breath, we will continue to witness. Yes, the beast is still coming to destroy the witness of God’s children, which we have seen in the global pandemic, social media, and the coming persecution. As we walk through each of these tragic areas meant to stop our witness, let’s listen to God allowing Him to open up new possibilities for a stronger witness in the twenty-first century. We want to be an effective witness, especially during these turbulent times. We are witnesses.

The global pandemic has kept God’s children from coming together in fellowship. So, we continue to pray that God will miraculously end this global pandemic. Until He does, as God’s children we should set an example by going the extra mile to ensure our own safety and the safety of others by wearing a face mask, doing sensible social distancing, washing hands, yes even our face, and wiping things down when we come home. We can still make eye contact allowing our eyes to shine brightly. As God’s faithful children we can still express sincere love, great joy, and incredible peace causing others to ask why we are so different. The Bible says, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15). Our sanctification will shine brightly through our mask. Trust me, they will ask what makes you so different even if they are not interested in what you have to say. So, it’s essential that we answer back with meekness and fear of the Lord. Meekness is great strength under control remembering that we are God’s ambassadors speaking His words after Him. How glorious to witness God working through us breaking down their walls of hostility allowing them to feel our sincere love. We are witnesses.

Social Media is also destroying the witness of God’s children. It has introduced many different voices bringing great confusion to His beloved disciples. All of sudden everyone is a learned theologian, or a prophet called of God. Most of what is there will only confuse you causing you to question your faith or spend countless hours accomplishing nothing. We need to stop scrolling on social media. Only post your witness, which will be defined in this article, then leave immediately. Return only to address comments with the truth or to graciously thank others for sharing your article or post. Dear children, please don’t post anything about politics or post any personal information that can be used against you. Yes, we all need loving fellowship and that hasn’t changed from the beginning. The Bible says, And the LORD God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him” (Genesis 2:18). However, as followers of Christ, we need to be careful seeking a personal relationship on social media where we cannot see their body language and examine their Spiritual fruit. We must look elsewhere, in places that we can make eye contact. We can also, learn how to write personal and spiritual letters, emails, or text messages (but not on FB, messenger, or other insecure sites). It is not our job to share what others have posted unless the Spirit leads us to be in total agreement. We are witnesses.

The coming persecution will identify God’s faithful remnant as religious extremists. Simply placing your hand on the Bible and claiming to be a church member does not make you any different than the rest of the world, well at least in America.  You can claim to be just about anything in America other than a Spirit-filled believer who is on fire for Christ. True transformed believers in Christ, who let their light shine in public, are considered to be fanatics by the fallen world. This will become a problem in the coming days. The Government has already set up a task force to combat domestic terrorism. In addition to other groups they are watching, such as, the White Supremacist and the Proud Boys, they will also specifically look for what they term as religious extremists, putting them under immediate surveillance. Unfortunately, this is now our legacy because many evangelical Christians supported the Trump presidency. The connection has already been made. I understand as of late that they are keeping what’s known as a social media score. They know who you are and what you believe in from all of your posts and if it does not align with the beliefs of those in power then your score goes down. This drop in score will limit the visibility of your post, while generating a notification to the new task force. No matter what our score is or what the government does, we must continue to be effective witnesses. We are witnesses.

As long as we have breath, we will witness the miracle of the transformation in Christ. This is the very thing that sets true believers apart from the rest of the world and even from those who claim to follow Christ. From our study of Scripture, we anticipated the transformation, that we would be made into a new creation, and that we would no longer be in bondage to the old life (see II Corinthians 5:17). We welcomed the Holy Spirit into our whole life asking Him to help us put off the old life and put on the new life in Christ (See Ephesians 4:22-24). Then we experienced the power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives every day. As the old life began to fall off and we started walking in our new life in Christ, we realized that before Christ our self-proclaimed righteousness was like filthy rags (See Isaiah 64:6). The Spirit entered into the deepest caverns of our soul to unearth the grossest of immorality that we had never realized were sins in the first place. If you are not excited about the transformation, then you need to go back to the Cross to understand its message of dying to self and following Christ in His death and resurrection. Friends, a leopard cannot change his spots, nor can we deny who we are and what we are becoming in Christ. This is our testimony. We are witnesses.

As long as we have breath, we will witness the dynamic of fellowship in the church that Christ instituted. Technology has robbed God’s children of so much. They can write out their thoughts. They can read and watch the thoughts of others on videos but there is something terribly missing. Where is the wonderful body language that videos can’t capture? Where is the soft caring voice? Where is the touch of virtue and power? It’s all missing in our technological age of computers, cellphones, and social media. We know now why Christ instituted the Church with a very special fellowship that defies understanding. We have lost something and we long to get it back. The gentle touch is much more than physical healing, it is a spiritual healing that touches the very soul of others. Only a cruel and wicked world will turn this godly touch into something it’s not. We pray, Oh Lord, that you will listen to the prayers of all your children and miraculously end this global pandemic. Although we understand that this could be God’s righteous hand of judgment disciplining His rebellious children, we do plead for mercy for His faithful remnant who are missing this very special and mystical fellowship of all coming together in His Name. This coming together will not only bring forth valuable lessons on how-to walk-in holiness but also spiritual healing from touching others and being touched. So precious is our fellowship one with another. We are witnesses.

As long as we have breath, we will witness God’s wrath falling upon unrepentant humanity. Let us proclaim boldly that the fallen world can pass measures to stop Global Warming, join The Paris Agreement, build their windmills, and drive their electric cars all day long but nothing will change. The earth will continue to slip into oblivion until everyone repents of their gross immorality and from turning their back on God. The fires will continue to rage engulfing entire states and destroying whole cities and neighborhoods. The earthquakes will continue to grow in number and strength. Volcanoes will spew hot lava and ash across entire continents. The flooding will continue to overtake all of our shorelines pushing people further inland. Hurricanes and tornadoes will unleash their fury beyond their normal seasons. Nothing will stop the righteous hand of God but sincere repentance. As God’s witnesses, we must call upon fallen humanity to repent. We must be bold in telling them to: “Stop your sexual immorality. Stop your integration of psychology into God’s sufficient truth. Stop doling out mind-altering drugs to God’s children. Stop worshiping at the altar of other religions by assimilating their teachings with God’s holy truth. Stop denying the exclusiveness of Christianity. Stop the slaughter of unborn children. Stop turning your back on God and stop persecuting His beloved children.” Dear children, we must not fear the world and what they can do, rather we should fear the One who has the power to cast us into hell (See Luke 12:5). We must proclaim the truth with the hope that fallen humanity will repent. We are witnesses.

Please Join Me in Prayer

Good morning Heavenly Father. We pray Father that we will always represent you well as ambassadors for Christ. We pray that all that we say and all that we do has the same goal in mind, to reconcile people to you. Thank you, Father, for breaking down the wall of hostility and making reconciliation possible. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that this was accomplished through your death on the Cross to pay the penalty for the sins of the entire world. Thank you that we can now receive forgiveness for all of our sin’s past, present, and future through faith. Thank you that Jesus Christ not only came to show us the way; He is the Way to eternal life by believing in His glorious resurrection from the dead and ascension to heaven. Thank you, Father, that there is great power in the Cross to give us a brand-new life, as we are raised up with Christ from the dead through faith and trust in you alone. We pray that this glorious Gospel will always be on the lips of your children so that we can represent you well as ambassadors for Christ. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” (II Corinthians 5:20).
