The Christian Vote

Today is the opening of the Democratic Convention and it is needful for us once again, as Christians, to reflect upon our president. President Barack Hussein Obama’s speech in Cairo to the Muslim world back in July 2009 was another eye opener … of his true intentions to unite every “tribe, people, language, and nation” together as a new world order. His call was to remake the world based on what was written in the “Holy Koran, the Talmud, and the Holy Bible.” In an instant President Obama has put these books on equal footing to be used as needed resources for building a brave new world. Obama used the words of Christ from the Sermon on the Mount to indicate that the golden rule – “do to others what you would have them to do to you” as a “rule that lies at the heart of every religion”. And then went on to say, “This truth transcends nations and peoples – a belief that isn’t new; that isn’t black or white or brown; that isn’t Christian, or Muslim or Jew. It’s a belief that pulsed in the cradle of civilization, and that still beats in the heart of billions.”

Not only does President Barack Obama deny the exclusiveness of the Christian Bible, but he denies the exclusiveness of Christ as the only Son of God. Obama’s speech to the Muslim world made the other prophets equal to Christ. He does this by quoting from the Muslim story of Isra as if he were quoting the very truth of God. He said, “When Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed (peace be upon them) joined in prayer.” The story of Isra indicates that the archangel Gabriel comes to Mohammed and carries him to the temple mount of Jerusalem. It also indicates that the second part of the journey takes Mohammed to the heavens, where he tours the circles of heaven, and speaks with the earlier prophets such as Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, and then is taken by Gabriel to Allah. (Originally published in 2009 as “President Obama openly denies the exclusiveness of Christianity”)

For Barack Hussein Obama to unite every, “tribe, people, language, and nation” together as the new world order he must first of all do away with the exclusiveness of Christianity. Some will say our president is just tolerant of other religions and this should not affect my vote in November. I would vehemently disagree. To be tolerant of another man’s religion on the basis of love is a far cry from putting Christianity on the same level as other world religions, which is anathema. The Christians of the first century were hated and persecuted for refusing to worship the State religion or even to recognize the proliferation of other religions as being valid. They not only professed Jesus Christ as Lord and King, but confessed that He was the only Way to the Father, and that all other paths would lead you straight to hell.

Barack Hussein Obama will be asking the Christian community for their vote for a second term as president of the United States of America. I may be a bit old fashioned, but to me when you cast a vote for any elected leader you are demonstrating publicly that you agree with his or her core beliefs. So as Christians we must ask ourselves prior to casting our vote, “does this elected leader align with my core beliefs?  Do they stand for the exclusiveness of Christianity? Do they fight for the sanctity of life? Do they support our moral belief that the institution of marriage is only between a man and a woman? And if the answer is no – then you simply do not cast your vote! It is time for Christians to stand up for what they believe –it is time to stand firm. God help us if we don’t!
