Get Off the Merry Go Round

The first thing that comes to your mind is, “What merry-go-round?” Most can remember riding them when we were much younger. You will recall that the merry-go-round stayed in one place as it went around and around. We typically got on and off at the same location, never venturing further than where we had started. Unfortunately, we live in a day where many Christians have been riding the same merry-go-round for many years and never venturing any further than where they had begun many years before. You may have grown in memorizing many wonderful stories from the past along with your many favorite Bible stories. You may have even memorized some of your favorite Scripture texts and stories of how you believe God has used you in the past. Beyond all this, we discover that we really haven’t moved much from where we started many years ago. We are still on the merry-go-round, going around and around in the same place. We need to get off the merry-go-round and allow God to move us further down the path to see what is happening in the rest of the world; what’s happening in the real world. Let’s discover together how to get off the merry-go-round, which will bring us to a point of seeing the big picture of what’s really happening in the world and how God specifically wants to use us in His Kingdom. God’s Will is Beyond Human Logic

Logic has become a popular term, in our day, that goes by many different names. It has become the culmination of acquired knowledge, and wisdom, and the result of many hours of research. It has also been referred to as a sixth sense, the receiving of a gut feeling, or the expression, “it makes sense.” Logic contrary to what we call it allows humanity to make their many choices in life, which is always a gamble that can cause tremendous suffering when wrong choices are made. Although we make hundreds of decisions every day, there are a few that could have profound consequences if the wrong decision is made. Unfortunately, those consequences are not always immediately observable as we see through a glass darkly, limited by time and space (I Corinthians 13:12). Most will do all their homework, run the numbers, and have even done their research. Still, for fallen humanity, it’s always a gamble. Granted, some of fallen humanity doesn’t even bother doing any kind of research but allows their felt needs to direct their choices in life, even if they know it’s wrong or costly. When humanity removes God from their decision-making or just pays Him lip service, then the consequences can be devastating. So, it’s essential to understand God’s will even if it’s beyond logic. Teach Us To Number Our Days

I have taught this truth from Scripture, to number our days, for many years now, oftentimes in funeral sermons and eulogies. God has taught humanity for many thousands of years that man typically has only seventy years unless he is totally blessed and lives into his eighties. We have all witnessed precious souls, like my younger brother, who only lived one week, and my blessed grandmother who lived well into her hundreds. We have no way of knowing just how long we will be given to live on this planet, so it is necessary to number our days making every day count. Although we could only trust in the providence of God for my younger brother, my blessed grandmother had learned well how to make the most of every day to the glory of God. Contrary to how old we are and the trials that we are currently facing, we can still learn together how to number our days by making every moment of every day count for the best. If we don’t then time will fly by as a watch in the night as if our time on earth never existed; a thousand years in your sight would be like yesterday when it is past (Psalms 90:4-6). Coming Trials Will Test Your Faith (Video)

We all know, or should know, that it’s faith that unlocks the door to heaven and eternal life. Perhaps that’s the first thing we heard when we embraced the glorious message of Jesus Christ and His offer of salvation. The majority of those who say that they believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially those living in the West today, have not had their faith severely tested but their time is coming quickly. Know the Watchman on the Wall (Video)

If we know who the watchman is on the wall, then we will be careful to hear what he says, and if the trumpets are sounded, we will take warning. We must know the watchman on the wall. I will tell you plainly, that I am not the watchman, but Jesus Christ is, and we must listen to His voice alone. If I hear His voice speaking or the trumpets sounding, then I will speak. I will sound the warning. After watching this eye-opening video on my secure website, please share it with others.
