The Bible says, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). This has been the problem since the beginning of time. When temptation and sin entered the world, thanks to Satan, mankind as a whole has not agreed with their God and have not generally agreed with one another. This division between man and his God was caused when the truth was questioned by the induction of a lie, “Did God say” (see Genesis 3:1). The Bible says, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). This has been the problem since the beginning of time. When temptation and sin entered the world, thanks to Satan, mankind as a whole has not agreed with their God and have not generally agreed with one another. This division between man and his God was caused when the truth was questioned by the incitement of a lie, “Did God say” (see Genesis 3:1). It was not long thereafter that man was telling his own lies driving a deeper wedge between groups of people and the family unit. In time, these lies spawned completely different notions as to who God is, how we as a man came to be, the meaning of life, and our place in the universe. Although Jesus Christ came to set the captives free by giving them the truth about who we are and our original relationship with God, fallen humanity had already been questioning the validity of truth seen so clearly in Pilate’s response to Jesus, “What is Truth” (See John 18:38). I don’t think Pilate was mocking Jesus but simply stating an accepted norm that believed it was impossible to actually know the truth. Why was that so difficult then and now will be the topic of our study today, especially important with what’s currently going on in the world. Continue reading Who’s Telling the Truth?→
Our topic is the armor of God. A very important part of being prepared spiritually for the “End Times” is being dressed in and utilizing the whole armor of God for Satan will be extremely powerful and even more deceptive because he knows that his time is short. Therefore, it is necessary to lay a foundation in Jesus Christ so that we can engage the enemy. Without a firm foundation it would not only be futile but disastrous. Let me remind you of the story of when some Jews attempted to drive out an evil spirit in the name of Jesus that turned nearly fatal. “One day the evil spirit answered them, ‘Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are ye?’ And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded” (Acts 19:15-16). So before we go any further, it is absolutely essential that you know that you are a born-again believer in Christ Jesus. It may be necessary to reevaluate your theology on which you hang your belief to ensure that you have properly laid a foundation on which to stand firm. You might be asking why I must engage the enemy. It is apparent from scripture that he is already engaging you and if you do not learn how to stand firm against him then you will live a defeated life. You will suffer the consequences. Clearly Satan’s mission is to destroy the church and to convince you that you have no need of it; that you are quite capable of standing alone on your own spiritual journey. We need to come out of the world because the power structures in the world are very captivating; they will keep you in bondage to the Evil one. Christ came to set the captives free. You say: “I didn’t know that we were in captivity.” Living in this beautiful country enjoying the freedoms that we have we don’t think much about being in captivity. Yet we are! The Bible says that we are in captivity to this world and the one who runs this world is Satan himself! The Bible says, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.”(Eph. 2:1-2) That’s the bad news. But the good news is that Christ came to set us free, to give us a new life in-Him. At the conclusion of the service I am going to give you an opportunity to come forward to accept Jesus Christ into your heart.
