As marvelous as the brain is, it falters easily under the malicious attacks of the enemy or the god of this world. He can easily insert a thought, a teaching, an intention, or his evil opinion through either one of our four senses with a veiled attempt to destroy God’s beautiful creation. So, how does the Christian protect himself from such an evil predator that’s currently destroying humanity as we know it? Don’t miss the three music videos that help give application to our message. The mind is the most amazing thing. It’s faster than any supercomputer where it sees the whole picture and processes multiple things at the same time. The brain is more resilient than graphene the strongest alloy known to man and also known for its adaptability. It can record everything it hears and sees with an amazing storage capacity. Unfortunately, without immediate intervention, it will store both the good and the bad. The human mind has the ability for total recall under certain conditions or circumstances. The indwelling Spirit has the incredible ability to recall things from years ago in perfect clarity. The brain can move an individual to demonstrate every known emotion and be willing to die for one’s belief. It can dream at night while in a deep sleep and it can also daydream endlessly or spend hours in prayer and meditation. The nation was shocked again with another mass shooting this time in Las Vegas, Nevada. Already blame is given to mental illness. gun control, ISIS, and the list goes on and on, but no one looks at the real problem. It’s like the whole world and most of Christianity ignores the problem completely. Yes, it is a deep-rooted problem that goes back many years, perhaps as far back as the 1950’s. Until we recognize the problem we will never be able to solve it. Everyone will admit that what a man thinks is what he will eventually do. This was a truth taught by the Bible and echoed by Jesus Christ and His Apostles. Proverbs says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7). And clearly a man always thinks what he has been taught. Continue reading Making Sense Out of Another Tragedy→
Our topic is the armor of God. A very important part of being prepared spiritually for the “End Times” is being dressed in and utilizing the whole armor of God for Satan will be extremely powerful and even more deceptive because he knows that his time is short. Therefore, it is necessary to lay a foundation in Jesus Christ so that we can engage the enemy. Without a firm foundation it would not only be futile but disastrous. Let me remind you of the story of when some Jews attempted to drive out an evil spirit in the name of Jesus that turned nearly fatal. “One day the evil spirit answered them, ‘Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are ye?’ And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded” (Acts 19:15-16). So before we go any further, it is absolutely essential that you know that you are a born-again believer in Christ Jesus. It may be necessary to reevaluate your theology on which you hang your belief to ensure that you have properly laid a foundation on which to stand firm. You might be asking why I must engage the enemy. It is apparent from scripture that he is already engaging you and if you do not learn how to stand firm against him then you will live a defeated life. You will suffer the consequences. Clearly Satan’s mission is to destroy the church and to convince you that you have no need of it; that you are quite capable of standing alone on your own spiritual journey.
