What is the Spiritual Realm and how do believers enter it? Most believers understand how to receive the Holy Spirit as a gift from God when they demonstrate sincere repentance and agree to follow Jesus Christ exclusively as their Lord and Savior. They readily accept the Spirit as their Teacher to lead them in all godliness believing that He will give them everything they need for all of life and godliness. They learn quickly not to grieve the Holy Spirit by turning a deaf ear to His teachings and purposely walking in disobedience of the known commandments. There is no special baptism required beyond the initial baptism performed in faith when we surrender our lives to Christ. As we put off the old life through confession and repentance and put on the new life in Christ by walking in faith we begin to see a glimmer of the Spiritual realm that thrills our hearts beyond anything we could have imagined. We begin to feel the peace that defies understanding. Yet, all this is only the beginning which in time will open a whole new dimension that we never realized existed. We’ve read the Bible, prayed our long prayers, and maybe even experienced some pretty strange things that shocked our insensibilities, but what lies ahead should motivate all of God’s children to reach the mountaintop, to experience the Spiritual realm and a taste of heavenly bliss.
This will be a journey that few will be willing to take. Unfortunately, most in the modern world have settled for lukewarm Christianity that fits rather nicely into our society. They have settled for the thrill and excitement of being aroused by contemporary music and the ecstatic fellowship. Or they have settled for higher learning, expounding on every word and its amazing history, bringing forth a great feeling of understanding of the deeper aspects of our faith. Although both of these paths are very enlightening and can thrill the heart beyond belief, by themselves they don’t reach into the Spiritual Realm and its ecstasy. Let us follow the Spirit and allow Him to teach us the depth of God’s beautiful commandments that will move us well beyond the current fallen world and its depraved society. What we will talk about is not redundancy for which the world is well established, including lukewarm Christianity, but stepping out on faith and doing something we have never done before or thought possible in the fallen world. Yes, redundancy in the fallen world is a trap of the devil, which is doing the same thing over and over again. When this happens it robs us of our time not allowing us to follow the explicit direction of the Holy Spirit and more importantly to be used by Him in His Holy work. We don’t need to look very far to see all the things in the fallen world that lead to a life of redundancy, doing the same thing over and over again.
First Satan steals your time, which we will expound on, and then he steals your space by collecting all that the fallen world offers. We will never reach the mountain top until both these things of time and space are dealt with in a way that will bring forth simplicity. The Bible says we must redeem the time because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:16). There are only 24 hours in a day of which there is time already allocated to work and sleep. It’s the other time that must concern us because the powers of darkness have done everything they can to rob us of our other time. The entertainment of television, streaming movies, sports, and numerous gaming apps have held the whole population captive for over a decade. From all the social media platforms to the broadcasting of 24-hour news and from viewing YouTube videos to the increasing presence of the coming Metaverse our time is being consumed at an alarming rate. I hope you see that this all leads fallen humanity to a life of redundancy, doing the same thing over and over again. Furthermore, this also leads fallen humanity to follow the powers of darkness in many more hours of vain imagination. There is little time left to think God’s thoughts after Him along with keeping in step with the Spirit. Yet, it is these latter things that allow our transformation in Christ to proceed. It is these latter things that keep us on the path to the mountain top to experience His heavenly bliss.
Not only do the powers of darkness steal our time but they also steal our space. We live in a world that is always consuming everything it encounters. It can never have enough from essential food items to the thousands of other items not needed for the well-being of our human bodies. The mindset is it’s ok, because if we can’t consume it, then we are free to throw it away. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Let us consider the amount of clothes we buy where many items are never worn more than once a year, if at all. Let us consider the number of trinkets, flowers, pictures, and other things we purchase to fill up every corner of our homes. And if we run out of room, then we can follow the world in renting storage units to store our prized possessions. Filling up this space with the things of the world keeps our minds focused on nonessentials that constantly need to be moved about, dusted, stored, and admired. Yet, our space is still not full, because we live in a world that’s constantly coming out with new furniture and fixtures to fit into our living spaces. Nothing is built to last for we are told that others will look down on our old items as antiques or worthless items that need to be replaced even if we must go back into debt, which the whole world has accepted. Time and space must be redeemed, giving us time and space for God alone. This is truly the pathway to simplicity as we approach the mountain top to be completely alone with God.
After dealing with both time and space, there is one last thing that must be dealt with to make our last push to the mountain top and that is human pride, the most difficult thing. This is the most difficult thing because it can create an argumentative spirit of always thinking you are right and it can also engender total dependence on the world, Satan’s domain. Satan has told us from the beginning that we can be like God, making all of our own decisions and solving all our physical and psychological problems, which allows humanity to seek advice from humans in the fallen world while retaining their own prerogative to make choices instead of trusting in God exclusively. Unfortunately, we live in a world that no longer trusts in God exclusively but will ultimately make their own choices. They will do their research on the Internet even when most of the results will come directly from Artificial Intelligence. They will trust their medical professionals to give them the drugs to maintain their physical health and they will trust in their worldly counselors to give them solutions to solve their growing psychological problems even if it means a lifetime of counseling and taking psychotropic drugs with all their side effects. All this drives them further away from the pathway that leads to the mountain top and heavenly bliss.
Pride and especially spiritual pride goes much deeper than trusting in the world and doing your own research on the internet or all the social media platforms. It goes much deeper. Spiritual pride accepts its own methodology on how to study and interpret Scripture. This spiritual pride fits easily in the fallen world especially lukewarm Christianity believing that it has attained all that God offers. Whatever is missing can be found in the world through the social media platforms that cut up the full sermons of antiquity to short 10-second reals completely out of context or the posting of Scripture also out of context. When the letters written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit by the Apostles arrived at the early church, the whole letter was read in one setting. Spiritual pride has also driven many to reject all the blessed theology from ages past and only accept their limited interpretations of God’s Holy Word. All this will keep them in the valley and never on the path that leads them to the mountain top. It’s time to let go and let God. Let God alone lead you back to that glorious path. Dear children, come out from among them and be separate. Seek and follow only the things of God. Aim for simplicity in your life by owning only what you really need and giving away the rest. When you come out and go to the mountain top what you see and experience will be beyond mere words, it will touch the depths of your heart where nothing in the world no longer seems important, except God’s beautiful creation. Once on the mountain top, God’s love will truly flow through your heart to others in our face-to-face relationships. On the mountain top we will experience the presence of our out most high God. On the mountain top you will hear the harps playing and the angels singing to the glory of God. Dear children, strive to enter the Spiritual Realm daily.
The Gospel Presentation
We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, which explains the many difficulties that you are currently facing in your life. Well, I have good news, God has solved that problem by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin to show us the way to a beautiful new life in Christ. God has dealt with all of our sins past, present, and future by having His son pay the debt for our sins. Jesus Christ willingly went to the Cross in our stead by allowing all of the world’s sins to be placed upon Him as a sacrificial Lamb. As Christ hung on the Cross, the wrath of God was poured out on Him to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus Christ died on the Cross and was buried for three days. On the third day, Christ arose from death to life everlasting. The good news is if we believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, then we will be forgiven for all of our sins and receive the Holy Spirit. The Spirit will lead us into all truth helping us in the transformation process of putting off the old life, allowing the old sin nature to die with Christ, and then putting on our new life in Christ by being raised with Christ to everlasting life. You can accept Christ today by confessing your sins to Him through a simple prayer asking Him to forgive you and make you into a new creation filled with the Holy Spirit. If you have done that, then you have just begun the greatest journey of your life that leads to heaven and eternal life. Welcome to the Kingdom.
