God is glorified for many things, but we don’t often think about God being glorified in His righteous judgment coming now upon the earth. God since the beginning has always been glorified when His chosen people followed the path that was laid out for them in loving obedience to His commandments. The Bible says, “Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified” (Isiah 60:21). God brought forth His commandments to show them the path of righteousness and the branch of His planting. This branch looked forward to the salvation of the whole world, a people in distant lands walking in righteousness to the glory of God. God’s work was the gift of His beloved Son to make propitiation for the sins of humanity (I John 2:2). God’s work was the glorious transformation of fallen humanity in Christ by putting off the old life and putting on the new life in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 4:22-24). Furthermore, the God of creation would be glorified as His beloved children would let their light shine through their good works (Matthew 5:16). In time, they would also learn how to glorify God in their body and in their Spirit, which are God’s (I Corinthians 6:20). This would only be the beginning of a deeper journey of glorifying God in every situation including the coming judgment. Continue reading Glorify God in the Coming Judgment
We can all disagree on eschatology and the timing of Christ’s Second Coming, but we cannot disagree on our need for repentance. My concern as a pastor for many years is that most don’t have a full understanding of what they need to repent of and more importantly how to properly repent. Most people qualify their need for repentance by what they see in others. If they see others on the news or social media with what they perceive as a much greater sin, then it often leads them to overlook the sin in their own lives. It’s very easy for the self-righteous to look down on others while ignoring their own so-called little sins. Therefore, our goal is to stop judging others, so that we have ample time to examine our own sins. Yes, it will take a great deal of time and effort to look within to examine our own character, our own thinking, and our own behavior. If we are honest, then we will soon discover that we all need repentance, including ourselves. Let’s look at the process together on how to look within to discover every unknown sin that has clouded our eyesight, then we will discuss the process of true repentance. Some say there are no prophets today, while others say the gift of prophecy no longer exists. To listen to the prophets in any age will take a great deal of discernment. There have been false prophets from the beginning proclaiming things out of their own vain imagination. God and his elect prophets have always been very critical of these false prophets prophesying either what the people want to hear or their own made-up prophecies that always confuse the people. Any serious student of the Bible who is filled with the Holy Spirit knows full well that the gift of prophecy will not cease until the perfect One, Jesus Christ, comes to usher in His eternal Kingdom. I have taught for many years that there is no new prophecy other than what’s already in the Bible but that does not negate the fact that the Spirit can also give us a deeper insight into the written prophecy that already exists and direct us to apply it properly to the age in which we are living. We have a responsibility to adhere to the true prophets for every age from the First Century until now. As. God’s beloved children, we must listen to the prophets with great discernment. Mankind boasts pridefully that he will stop the hurricanes, the fires, and the viruses sweeping the planet. In his pride, he believes that by reversing global warming then he will stop the hurricanes and the forest fires destroying so many homes. In his pride, he boasts that he will stop all the old and new viruses destroying so many lives by taking the vaccine. The Bible says, “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision” (Psalms 2:4). God mocks or derides the vain attempts of men as He calmly goes forward in the execution of His own purposes. After watching this eye-opening video on my secure website, please share it with others.
