Are You Being Transformed In Christ?

Many people in the world claim to know Christ, yet they speak very little about Him. Although they may claim to have fellowship with a local body of believers, they tend to know more about what’s going on in the world rather than what their church believes. They are experts in every topic from politics to the latest news stories, but they are at a loss about what Christ is doing in their lives. Unfortunately, most are not being transformed in Christ but are being transformed by the world through a great flood of information. This information coming at the speed of light promises to address your every problem from mental health to physical health. It promises to answer every question about the proper foods we should eat, the medications we should take, and the exercise programs we should do. It promises to answer every question concerning the ecosystem and our place in the cosmos. Today, I would like to look beyond just following the Christian crowd and the influx of information coming from the world to understanding the miracle of our transformation in Christ. We will explore what we should expect from being transformed in Christ. Transformation is a lifelong journey. There are clear signs that we are truly on the path to transformation that will excite you beyond belief. We will learn how important it is to allow the Holy Spirit to do His job of making us into a new creation (II Corinthians 5:17). Continue reading Are You Being Transformed In Christ?

Being Told What to Think About

The powers of darkness have much more power and authority over our thinking than most people are willing to admit. I have been writing sermons to preach, blog articles, news briefs, and books for many years now as I am led by the Holy Spirit, but one thing I have noticed is that some things have a much greater appeal than others. I wonder if it’s just how the wind is blowing or if there is a much greater force at work leading people to either accept or reject what is being said. I have noticed also that the world can lose interest in a topic or story very quickly even if it’s of great importance. They say that humanity’s retention span is about two weeks. The news outlets and social media platforms are keen on that idea and are quick to develop new interests to pull humanity along giving them new things to pique their interest, giving them new thoughts to control them, to consume their time. As a pastor for many years, I have discovered that many who claim to know and follow the Lord are not much different than the world by always wanting something new to pique their interest. Moreover, I have found that they are always desiring new undiscovered truth instead of understanding the depth of God’s plan for humanity. Continue reading Being Told What to Think About

Christian, Hold the Line Empirically

Fundamentally, through observation and experience, Christians can hold the line against the works of the devil. This is not a theory or pure logic; it is an empirically tested method. There was One who came beyond time and space to show us the way, a way that has all been lost in our modern age. We live in an age of theories and logic. We have come to rely upon our highly technological age to chart our path. We have bowed down to the so-called proven theories of the Scientific Age. All this is leading humanity further and further into darkness. To chart our own path, will always lead us into satanic bondage, and further away from God. Our observation started two thousand years ago by following Jesus Christ on the dusty trails of Judea and then continued by following the writings of those who originally followed Him. We followed their experiences in putting off the old life, which barred the way of the devil. Then we followed their written experiences of putting on the new life in Christ, which overcame the works of the devil and opened a new horizon. This has all been lost in the new age that’s leading the entire world into slavery to the powers of darkness. Continue reading Christian, Hold the Line Empirically

When the Witness Stops Witnessing (Video)

Let me remind you that the testimony of the witnesses is so strong it’s like fire coming forth from their mouth to destroy the arguments of those who come against them (Revelation 11:5). Their testimony is like our testimony, which is what Jesus Christ has done for us. The Bible says that there is great power in the message of the Cross and specifically our testimony (I Corinthians 1:18). When the Witness Stops Witnessing

Our testimony says, before Christ, there was an emptiness that could not be explained. No matter how hard we worked to fill this emptiness in our lives, we could not. Before Christ, even the right we knew to do was very difficult causing us untold problems. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The Good News is everything changed when we believed what Christ did for us on the Cross. All our sins were placed upon Christ as He took our place and paid the penalty for our transgressions. He died for our sins and was buried for three days in a tomb. On the third day, Christ rose from the dead and is now seated in Heaven making intercession for our sins. Our faith in the resurrection of Christ gives us a brand-new life in Christ where old things truly pass away. This new life fills our emptiness with the indwelling Spirit and gives us power over the old sin nature. In time we are also filled with an amazing joy and a peace that defies understanding. Our testimony has great power to those who are willing to listen. This is our testimony. Continue reading When the Witness Stops Witnessing
