Upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14, ESV)
What keeps us moving ahead? What keeps us looking forward instead of looking back all the time? For the believers in Christ, it is our upward calling in Christ Jesus. Unfortunately, many are stuck in the past, focused on their past failures, or reminiscing on what they perceive as good times in the past. For the Christian, it should be different. Yes, hopefully, we have learned from our previous mistakes by only glancing back, but our focus should always be on the future and our upward calling in Christ Jesus. This does not keep us from being thankful in all things, including what God has done for us in the past (II Thessalonians 5:18). This is one area that fallen humanity has not grasped. From the news services to psychological counseling, and those who are unwilling to forgive others, they are always stuck in the past. They are always rehashing the past over and over again never allowing humanity to forget their failures and move on to a new day. They have not really learned from their mistakes because every time they are rehashed somehow the facts keep changing. They have not learned how to forgive the past, holding much of humanity in bondage to their past errors. For the Christian, it should be different. We learn from the past. We forgive ourselves and those who have wronged us, which allows us to forget the past and move on. Every day should be a new day in the Lord (II Corinthians 4:16). As we near the end of another year our minds are focused on the future and what it will bring. We may even look back on what we and the world have gone through with a great deal of trepidation. Even a blind man could see the horrible consequences of a world gone mad. Many appear to be on the verge of insanity doing the unthinkable, while others have become slaves to their technology or the free flow of drugs to control the masses. Humanity is in a sad state of affairs as they are being pulled from pillar to post with every tick of the clock. Time has become the new master demanding its allegiance, which is casting humanity further and further into the depth of despair. There is one underlying problem that is leading humanity to self-annihilation. All the governments in the world cannot stop it. All the self helps, and drugs cannot stop it. All the technology and advanced artificial intelligence can’t stop it. Only one thing can, trust. We must learn, once again, how to trust in the loving providence of God. When we do the clicking of the clocks will stop and we will be free at last to understand God’s loving providence for all of His called children. Continue reading Trust in God’s Loving Providence→
After many years in the pastoral ministry that required personal one on one discipleship, door to door evangelism, preaching, teaching, and counseling, it was a tremendous change to minister to a faceless audience in an online ministry, which took time to develop long-distance relationships. Back in 1998, the worldwide web was still in its infancy, and building a website was not the easiest task. I still have fond memories of my wife and I visiting an internet provider owned and operated by my oldest son, Jonathan. He had his full-time programmer help me build my first website from scratch with no pre-made templates or WordPress. But how does one have a presence on the worldwide web? Google was a big help in those early days when they were still relatively new. We grew together on how to make one’s website easily searchable for as many people as possible, trying one promotional idea after another. In the beginning, our online ministry mainly consisted of writing blog articles, which was an easy task for I had spent many years writing out all of my weekly sermons as a fulltime pastor. Many of these old sermons found their way into my new website with an eagerness to reach the world for Christ. Continue reading Daniels Blog – Celebrating 22 Years of Online Ministry→

How can we overcome great suffering in this world victoriously? How can we stand firm in a world that’s shaking violently? As the entire world has its eyes transfixed on the possibility of nuclear war, the fear of global warming, and the destruction of democracies due to inherent corruption, they are missing the sudden rise in major earthquakes around the world. They are missing the destabilization of world governments, the rise of disenfranchised people that are rioting in the streets, and the crumbling foundations of all religions, especially Christianity. They are missing the tactics of Satan to destroy God’s children by stripping them of their eternal hope, heighten their fear of the unknown, and to embrace their own selfish interests. In this article, we will learn how to regain our eternal hope, dispel all fear, and embrace the power of living for others and not for self. To do so my friend will not only help you stand firm in the coming days, but it will allow you to fellowship in the suffering of Christ and experience the power of His resurrection.
