The nation was shocked again with another mass shooting this time in Las Vegas, Nevada. Already blame is given to mental illness. gun control, ISIS, and the list goes on and on, but no one looks at the real problem. It’s like the whole world and most of Christianity ignores the problem completely. Yes, it is a deep-rooted problem that goes back many years, perhaps as far back as the 1950’s. Until we recognize the problem we will never be able to solve it. Everyone will admit that what a man thinks is what he will eventually do. This was a truth taught by the Bible and echoed by Jesus Christ and His Apostles. Proverbs says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7). And clearly a man always thinks what he has been taught. Continue reading Making Sense Out of Another Tragedy
The witness stands before the lord of the earth as the Beast ascends from the bottomless pit. For two thousand years the Church faithfully witnessed while millions were martyred. Now we stand on the precipice of time and eternity crying out for an authoritative witness. In a world of confusion we seek clarity. In a world that’s gone mad we seek a powerful witness. We long to hear thunder from the Throne as mankind destroys the earth. Yet can we bear this witness? The world as a whole will not but happily celebrate when the witness is killed by the one who arises from the pit. For this witness is against everything they believe, for their deepest aspirations, and unfulfilled dreams. The world as whole wants peace at any cost, among all people, blurring the lines of nationality, culture norms and religious convictions. They long for a time when the entire world advances out of its infancy and reaches an age of maturity where all religions are on the same level with none having a corner on the truth. They long for a time when their counselors alone will be the embodiment of all truth given legislative ability to enact their will upon the people. In their mind this can only happen when the witness is removed. Continue reading The Witness
The world is in shock once again to the senseless, horrific deaths of little children at yet another school shooting. Just only to imagine the broken and lifeless bodies of those little children at the Sandy Hook Elementary school in Connecticut make it difficult to write this article. As my heart aches and my spirit cries I feel compelled once again to write about the consequences of a society who has turned its back on God. For the past 24 hours law enforcement and our nation’s leaders have been frantically looking for a motive for another tragic mass murder. What triggered it? What caused a quiet young man considered by his peers to be brilliant do the unthinkable? Computers are checked, emails are scanned, and countless people interviewed to determine what drove this man to do the unconscionable. As the investigation enters its second day it’s now being leaked that the shooter may have suffered from an obsessive disorder. I must ask again whatever happened to sin? Continue reading Whatever Happened to Sin?
Dear friends, I make no apology for believing in the Word of God as both authoritative and sufficient for all of life and godliness. I am a Bible believing preacher because I am convinced that it changes lives. I have seen it happen in my own life and I have also seen it happen in the lives of others. It is a great joy to see people saved. It is even a greater joy to see them grow in their spiritual walk with the Lord.
His Powerful Word is all we need for Life and Godliness (v3)
The church lives in the age of information and worldly wisdom. She has drifted away from preaching God’s Word alone. It is no longer seen as sufficient to meet the needs of modern man. God’s divine power is all we need for life and godliness. This is the same power that created the universe and everything in it. It is the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the grave. It is the same power that brings life to those who are dead in their trespasses and sins. But how do we get this power?
We need to come out of the world because the power structures in the world are very captivating; they will keep you in bondage to the Evil one. Christ came to set the captives free. You say: “I didn’t know that we were in captivity.” Living in this beautiful country enjoying the freedoms that we have we don’t think much about being in captivity. Yet we are! The Bible says that we are in captivity to this world and the one who runs this world is Satan himself! The Bible says, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.” (Eph. 2:1-2) That’s the bad news. But the good news is that Christ came to set us free, to give us a new life in-Him. At the conclusion of the service I am going to give you an opportunity to come forward to accept Jesus Christ into your heart.
There are four major patterns of this world that keep us in captivity to do the will of Satan. Friends that is his design… Continue reading Coming Out of the World
