Most Christians will not be persecuted. It’s really quite simple; if Satan has won your heart and allegiance then there is no reason to persecute you. If he has you trusting in his counsel and psychiatric drugs then he has already won your allegiance. If has you accepting other world religions as equal to yours then he has already won your heart. If he has you making room in your faith for homosexuals, the transgender, and every other perversion then he has already won your allegiance and there will be no need to persecute you. I am afraid in the end, there will only be a small minority or faithful remnant, who will not defy the faith, but accept persecution, if captured by those in power. If God is love then why did He tell the children of Israel, “Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man” (Numbers 31:17). This verse along with many other verses out of the Old and New Testament atheist use to supplant the love of God for their own misguided interpretation. Furthermore, they have concluded that all religions are evil being the cause of numerous wars and atrocities inflicted upon their fellow man. Then atheists typically conclude their argument by stating if God is love then why does He allow all the evil in the world. As we near the end of time atheists have become arrogantly emboldened while most believers remain silent. I often wonder if this silence is caused by fear or the believer’s lack of biblical knowledge. Let’s remember dear children that He who is in us is stronger than he who is in the world. (See I John 4:4) It’s past time to take our stand against the foolishness of this world by wielding the sword of the Spirit with all truth from His anointed Word.
It is essential to see that Christian persecution is not being led forth in all glory with a bleacher full of fellow believers rooting for you and encouraging you to stand firm. Although if one pulled back the spiritual veil you would see a great cloud of witnesses doing just that, but here upon the earth I am afraid it will be much more sinister. I believe that most of us have no idea what it feels like to be treated like a criminal. Most of us would not want to even imagine it, but we must seriously think about it. Don’t think for a minute that Christian persecution is anything different than being treated like a criminal. Christians since the beginning have been persecuted not because they were nice loving people but because they were perceived to be criminals of the first order. We have seen this for two thousand years beginning with our Lord Jesus Christ who was arrested on the charges of blasphemy and accused of sedition against the Roman Empire for claiming to be a King. This was followed by the early Christians being accused of being cannibals for eating the flesh of Jesus and drinking His blood during their love feast. Then Rome justified their persecution by claiming that they were arsons, burning down a section of the city, which destroyed homes and businesses of their fellow citizens. As I have already written Christians were also persecuted on the charge of sedition for claiming to follow another King rather than Caesar as lord. Continue reading Christian Persecution
