In The Blink of an Eye

If you lived for 125 years, compared to eternity that would only be in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately, most live far less than that because of the increase in new diseases, viruses, and other health-related issues. Some have their life ended early because of lawlessness, immorality, and abortion. Others enter death early because of wars, famines, and increasing natural disasters or global warming. Furthermore, over 1 million people die of car accidents every year globally; their lives too have changed in the blink of an eye. We are all dying. Our life span on planet earth is truly in the blink of an eye compared to eternity. Because of the original sin in the Garden of Eden, then we will all die (Genesis 3). While death is inevitable, most try to live their lives to the fullest with no thought of their eventual demise. On the other hand, we can plan for everlasting life now and experience a foretaste of heaven with a joy that’s beyond description. We have all been given a choice to pass on to eternal bliss in the presence of a loving God or to spend eternity separated from God in the fires of hell, which is conditioned on how we respond to the call from heaven. This is one call you don’t want to miss.

Unfortunately, most will miss the call. They will literally run from the good news or be put off by our quest for righteousness in Christ. They simply do not want to give up their beliefs and their so-called freedom to do whatever pleases them. They no longer want to struggle against the constant bombardment of evil thoughts brought on by the powers of darkness. So, they give in to their thoughts allowing it to consume them. Many have already been captured by the spirit of Antichrist that justifies their immoral behavior leading them into a socially accepted life of gross immorality. They have also been led astray to trust in all the new scientific beliefs that have explained away God’s beautiful creation and His order of things. They are being led to trust in Artificial Intelligence to give the correct answer to all things bringing a consensus among fallen humanity, to bring them out of chaos. Many others will consider the calling, then they will abruptly refuse or end the call because they are too busy building their life here on planet earth. They quickly get involved in schooling, new jobs, careers, building their new homes, romance, and starting a family along with many other things. They simply don’t have time to answer the call, yet they have no idea when their life will end. It could end in the blink of an eye.

If we answer the call, then our eyes will be fully opened to see that life on planet Earth is meant to prepare us for eternity. Those who have answered the call and surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ have also realized that being in Christ through faith changes everything. Somehow time seems to stop for those who keep in step with the Spirit, who miraculously opens and closes doors to the glory of God. Our time is joyously spent in prayer and meditation allowing God to grow us from one degree of glory to another. With our new Spiritual eyes, we see things differently. Time is no longer a bondage but real freedom to allow God to set our agenda for each day knowing that it will be different and exciting as we trust in Him exclusively to direct our path. Preparation takes on a whole new dimension realizing that we were not created to live completely alone but to live in a community with others. Face-to-face relationships take precedence over everything. We learn how to truly live with one another by living for others and not for ourselves. The more we master this self-giving agape love the more eternity comes into focus. We experience the glory of heaven on earth.

As we prepare for eternity realizing that our existence on planet earth is only in the blink of an eye, then our love for the world and the things of the world completely changes. We have a great love for God’s creation from the beautiful flowers to the amazing trees and the marvelous bushes. We see all of God’s creatures in a different light as living breathing beings that have a purpose in His beautiful creation. So, forgive me if we talk to the birds and the other little creatures scurrying about along with the beautiful growing plants. There is a new loving respect for all of God’s creation from the pristine rivers and lakes to the tall mountains and deep lush valleys. I am sure all this beauty on earth is just a foretaste of things to come in the new heavens and the new earth. We take a different view of the rest of the world created by self-righteous men. Everything they have made will pass away from cars, houses, monuments, and buildings to clothes and luxury items.  We no longer love the things of the world as our hearts are now filled with a deep love for others and God’s beautiful creation.

Yes, everything will pass away in the blink of an eye. We need to ask ourselves a question. “Are we preparing for the best life possible here knowing that it will end in the blink of an eye or are we preparing for eternity?” The Bible says, “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God” (Philippians 1:9-11). This is a beautiful prayer by the Apostle Paul to live as heavenly citizens with our eyes focused on the eternity. We let our love abound more and more by allowing God’s love to flow through us every time we come into proximity with others. This is not a frivolous, insensitive, and uncaring love but a love full of knowledge and judgment (or discernment). This kind of love is always seeking the best for others. With the eyes of knowledge, we look to meet not their felt needs but their real needs, which are often hidden from public view. With the eyes of Spiritual discernment and a silent prayer, we can detect their real needs to be met. Only with knowledge and discernment can we approve what would be right or excellent in our relationships. As we truly live for others, we have a glorious foretaste of heaven.

Furthermore, this abounding love must always be sincere without making an offense. A sincere love always speaks the truth being careful not to make an offense. This is often a fine line between helping others with a needed admonition without offending them with what might appear as rank cruelty. We must do everything we can to prove that our love is sincere, never meant to hurt and tear down, but to help and build up others in Christ. We will do this continuously until the Day of Christ, compared to eternity it is only in the blink of an eye. The good news is, the more we allow God to love others through us the more we will store up the fruits of righteousness that will remain with us for all eternity to the glory and praise of God. The fruits of righteousness will not only change us but all those around us. As the world sinks deeper and deeper into depravity, our righteousness will appear as a bright light overcoming the darkness. Humanity will repent and come to the light, or they will furiously rise up against us bringing forth horrific persecution. The bright light of our righteousness will either open a door to share the Gospel or it will drive a deeper wedge between us and darkness. In the blink of an eye, we will know where we stand as darkness is revealed.

Take courage dear children, come out from among them knowing that our victory in Christ will come in the blink of an eye. We take confidence in what we believe, knowing that the truth has set us free from all the lies of a fallen world. We have accepted the call of salvation by faith alone, we have accepted the call of faith, the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, in His death on the Cross paid for the sins of the entire world. We have followed Christ in His death on the Cross by dying to self, our old sin nature. As Christ rose from the grave in three days, we too have risen with Christ as a new creation in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17). During our short time on earth we have prepared for eternity every moment of every day by putting off the old life and putting on the new life in Christ (Ephesians 4:17-32). This is our testimony. We know that in a blink of an eye we will be delivered from all the pain and suffering in the world. We look forward to being clothed with our new bodies like the original creation before the fall. We look forward to a deeper and more intimate relationship with God and all of His creation. In the blink of an eye, we will overcome. In the blink of an eye, we will become all that God has called us to become as we step into eternity. All glory to God.

God’s Will is Beyond Logic

Logic has become a popular term in our day that goes by many different names. It has become the culmination of acquired knowledge, wisdom, and the result of many hours of research. It has also been referred to as a sixth sense, the receiving of a gut feeling, or the expression, “it makes sense.” Logic contrary to what we call it allows humanity to make their many choices in life, which is always a gamble that can cause tremendous suffering when wrong choices are made. Although we make hundreds of decisions every day, there are a few that could have profound consequences if the wrong decision is made. Unfortunately, those consequences are not always immediately observable as we see through a glass darkly, limited by time and space (I Corinthians 13:12). Most will do all their homework, run the numbers, and have even done their research, but for fallen humanity, it’s always a gamble. Granted, some of fallen humanity doesn’t even bother doing any kind of research but allows their felt needs to direct their choices in life, even if they know it’s wrong or costly. When humanity removes God from their decision-making or just pays Him lip service, then the consequences can be devastating. So, it’s essential to understand God’s will even if it’s beyond logic.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that has completely removed God from their decision-making by following the spirit of Antichrist. The spirit of Antichrist tells them that they have the power within themselves to make the correct decisions. They are told that all the information is at their fingertips. The spirit of Antichrist says we can have the proper discernment by weighing all the facts. Many of the facts examined are outrageous lies, half-truths, and propaganda or conspiracy theories circulating on the internet. Therefore, discernment becomes a self-imposed logic. This type of thinking has created think tanks of learned men and women that will also examine the history, often changed, the psychological profiles of nations or cultures, and world economics to determine the best course of action for the world to take in its decision-making. Again, God is completely removed from the equation, or He is simply paid lip service by allowing Him to validate their decisions. The will of God is no longer required or sought by most of humanity. Although some Christians may sincerely say that they want to follow God’s will, they are at a complete loss on how to understand it and without understanding His will, then it cannot be effectively followed.

Logic and all that it entails will not allow us to understand God’s will. If you have all the facts that can be observed, you still will not understand God’s will. Without understanding God’s will completely then it is impossible to make the right choice. To understand God’s will, we must look beyond logic by stepping out in faith. If we sincerely pray seeking God’s will, then He will impress His will upon our hearts through His still small voice. The good news is God’s will for our lives will not violate the Holy Scriptures, which is our standard for all of time. God’s will may seem illogical because we cannot see all the facts. Simply put, we cannot see the future, which could adversely affect our decisions. God can see the future because He is already there. Jesus Christ said I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning, and the end. In my personal journey, I have followed God’s will even when it did not appear to be the logical choice. I followed God’s will even if my research told me otherwise. I followed God’s will even if it was against my heartfelt desire. I trusted in God’s loving providence to work out everything to the best for His chosen children. I trusted God because He has shown me multiple times that His will was the best choice even if it was against our human logic.

So, God’s will is truly beyond logic. If we can no longer trust our instincts or our time-honored research, then how can we determine God’s will? We must learn how to listen to the Spirit who will always put us on the right path. Although we may not immediately arrive at the proper choice, we are now on a path keeping in step with the Spirit until the proper choice becomes evident. This is very important to allow God through the Spirit to lead us to the right decision. This is the hardest part for humanity who pridefully wants an immediate decision without waiting. Even many believers have no desire to follow the Spirit one step at a time waiting patiently for God to reveal His will. Most want immediate gratification even if it leads to the wrong decision. On the other hand, if we keep in step with the Spirit, then we soon realize that God opens new doors giving us a completely different perspective. We begin to see things that we never saw before. Also, when we keep in step with the Spirit, He brings to our memory certain Scripture texts that will shine a bright light into our souls, either to validate or nullify our decisions. Every step of the way God will reveal His will in His time and not ours (Isiah 55:8-9).

The Bible says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2). This takes time. It’s a process. One step at a time we move closer to God allowing Him to transform us by renewing our minds. We are no longer locked into time and space, but we understand that there is a much bigger picture that encompasses all of time. We begin to see everything from a new perspective. Decisions are no longer based on only what we see but on God’s will who knows the future. So, if we can’t see the future, which we can’t, then it always takes faith, believing God knows best even if it seems illogical at the time. In my journey, I have stepped out in faith many times even when the decision seemed illogical, and have been greatly blessed with what I have termed as God’s little miracles. It would be easy to fill up an entire book of these little miracles, but one will suffice. Early on in my ministry when finances were tight, we were faced with a decision about purchasing an expensive new tire (that was not quite the right size, because of its unavailability) or trusting God to make the trip with our old tire. Well, we prayed and trusted God to make the long trip with the old tire, and halfway to our destination the tire blew out, but to our amazement a service station was spotted in the middle of nowhere that had the correct size tire at a much cheaper price. All glory to God for His perfect will.

Dear children, if we trust in God’s loving providence to always lead us to make the right choice, even if it seems illogical at the time, then all of our anxieties will be exchanged for peace that defies understanding. Think of the times in your life when you said, “if I had only known, then my decision would have been different.” God knows, so this should motivate us to always follow His will. Now, let’s take this to a higher level that deals with the entire world and not just our personal choices. Prophecy sheds light on the choices of an entire world. New Testament prophecy is meant to give God’s children direction in every age from the first century until now. The prophecy is not static for only one time in the future, (often misunderstood by the lukewarm church), but is dynamic for the entire end times. So, what does the Revelation prophecy tell us? In every age, there has been the spirit of Antichrist leading God’s children astray to trust in their own logic while the prophecy warns the world that the consequences of their sins are increasing exponentially through world wars, natural disasters, and global pandemics. The spirit of Antichrist has blinded humanity into believing that they have the power to defeat the enemy in their proxy wars, to stop the pandemics by engineering our DNA, and to stop global warming with their latest decisions. Yet, humanity misses the only solution, which is following the will of God through global repentance. For the world, this seems illogical, so they will reject the will of God and suffer the consequences of world war and complete devastation.  Dear children, God’s will is beyond logic. The world must repent now by following God’s will exclusively or face Armageddon.

Let us pray: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

Only Servants Are Called Prophets

In the Last Days, many will claim to speak for God as His anointed prophets. However, the true test of a prophet is that they are servants of the Most High God. Servanthood is a great subject that’s not understood or recognized in the modern world but is essential for every true believer in Christ. Many of the great prophets and Apostles of old claimed that they were servants of God and later servants of Jesus Christ their Lord. There was a clear understanding of the meaning of Lord, who is Master, a meaning all but lost in our present day. The early Christians understood the relationship between the master and the servant or between the lord and the slave. It was an easy concept to grasp when they followed Jesus Christ as Lord and Master. They happily accepted their new position as slaves to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. They understood the amazing benefits of being in the household of an all-powerful God and the great responsibility of being His servant. Let us pray that we will also understand the depth and majesty of this relationship between us and the Most High God of heaven and earth.

Many professed followers of Jesus Christ in our day have become experts in all the benefits while neglecting the weightier responsibilities of being a servant or a slave. Any brief observation of the many posts on social media or the preaching from the modern-day pulpit will attest to the glorying in the benefits while they neglect the responsibilities of being a servant of God. So, what are our responsibilities of being a servant? The closest approximation for our day is being a server, a waiter, or a waitress, to meet the needs and desires of the customer. Although our God has no needs, He does have desires given to us through His written Words in the Bible, that accentuates all of His beautiful commandments. Ideally, the Words in the Bible along with God’s beautiful commandments should be written on our hearts through regular reading of the Bible, so that we know how to serve God. The Holy Spirit is given to every believer to bring back to our memory the Words written on our hearts to serve God in every area of our lives. When the Word of God and His beautiful commandments come back to our memory, then we must act upon it by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us.

Yes, the Holy Spirit will bring the Words written on our hearts back to our memory, so, we must learn how to actively listen and obey the Spirit’s leading. Dear children, this is not scheduled only once or twice during your daily prayer times. It is scheduled for every moment of every day, always listening for the Spirit even when you are conversing with others or actively involved in another project. Yes, we have the God given ability to do more than one thing at a time, so there is no excuse for not listening to the indwelling Spirit every moment of every day allowing Him to be our guide. A word of caution here: you do not need to tell every person you run into that the Spirit told you such and such. Believe me, the Spirit of God will lead you when this is necessary. Mostly God is looking for obedience from His servants, not just lip service. We must learn to listen, then we can keep in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-26). He is our Guide. The key to listening is to stop thinking and stop filling your mind with every vain imagination. I know this will be difficult for most, but it is necessary to practice silence and solitude so that we can hear what the Spirit is saying to us and the church (Revelation 3:22).

When I am writing or speaking to others, I take great pains to hear only what God is saying through the Spirit. I have also done this when doing biblical counseling, always waiting long before speaking. I have discovered that most people are not much interested in what we say, but only in what God has to say through us. As servants of God, who keep in step with the Spirit, we quickly realize that serving God is not only speaking but doing. Again we must listen. When the Spirit says speak, then we speak God’s truth, encouragement, or admonishment. Only the Spirit of God can lead His servants to speak a word of prophecy or to powerfully use their Spiritual gifts for His glory. If we are listening, speaking, and doing as the Spirit leads every moment of our waking day, we will turn the world upside down. Unfortunately, most believers have grown mute while around their families, at work, at school, or in public. Only listening, speaking, and doing, as we are led by the Spirit, will prove that we are true servants of God. Only God’s true servants, who listen to His Spirit, can make a real difference in the world. Unfortunately, we live in a world where everybody is speaking and doing but nobody is listening. To be a true servant of God always starts with listening.

We live in a world where everyone wants to spend an enormous amount of time researching, studying, and using their own knowledge to change the world. The only one that they are listening to is self. Self has become all-important building their pride to the point where it egotistically rubs off on everyone. This is the spirit of Antichrist seen in most leaders and politicians in the world. You can see what their pride is accomplishing, it’s bringing the world to the brink of total destruction. Yet, servanthood is the gateway to true greatness in the Kingdom. The Bible says, “But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted” (Matthew 23:11-12). This is the true path to servanthood and greatness because only humility will shut our mouths and open our ears. There is absolutely nothing in us that can make a difference in others and the world. All of our wisdom, intelligence, and knowledge will make no difference. Only God’s truth spoken through His written Word and brought to our minds by the Holy Spirit will make a difference. If you truly believe this, then you are ready to make a difference. If you believe this, then you are ready to become something out of nothing by the power and majesty of the Almighty God.

Only servants are called prophets. Servants are only called prophets because they have humbled themselves under the righteous hand of God. Everything they speak comes directly from the Spirit who resurrects a memory of God’s Word that was implanted in their hearts. This implanting was not made possible by memorizing God’s Word. People have memorized the entire New Testament and have remained pagan. This implanting by the Spirit is made possible through a heart-felt conviction that brings forth a time of weeping, remorse, and true repentance promising to never commit the trespass or to ignore the teaching again. When the Spirit truly has our ear through repentance and willingness to follow through on all of His teachings, then we will hear the prophetic Words of God for a lukewarm church that has greatly stumbled in our day. Thus saith the Lord, “Only true repentance will make a difference and stop the righteous hand of God pouring forth the bowls of His wrath.” Changing man’s laws, fixing global warming, and destroying nations threatening the West will not stop the righteous hand of God. Pretending to have a revival without true repentance will not stop the righteous hand of God. Imagine what the world would look like if everyone who claims to follow Christ truly repented by allowing the Spirit of God to write God’s laws upon their heart through heart-felt conviction and true repentance. Dear children, without true repentance the world is headed for the apocalypse, much sooner than you think. We are on the precipice.

Prepare For The Journey

Every true believer in Christ should prepare for the journey beyond this life, even when we don’t know when it will be. We all know that the journey must come, either at our death or at the coming of the Lord. We also know, if we are honest, it can come at any time, in the twinkling of an eye. We will all make the journey. We will all go to a place to be judged in God’s predetermined time, but only God’s elect children will continue making their journey to the gates of heaven. Only the ones who have been chosen since the foundations of the world will be welcomed into paradise (Ephesians 1:4). Make no mistake, only God’s chosen children will have a deep indescribable desire to prepare for the journey. It is our responsibility to help God’s children to prepare now. We should not take this responsibility lightly. Let us all roll up our sleeves and get to work. If you throw this article down and have no interest in preparing for the journey, then you will be most pitted amongst God’s creation and you will have a most difficult time proving your election. So, please let me encourage you to read this entire article very carefully with much prayer and meditation. Your time is coming much sooner than you think. Continue reading Prepare For The Journey

The Great Day of God Almighty

This is the great battle. This is Armageddon. This is the day that everyone will be exposed for who and what they really are. We see this final battle in two places in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 16:12-16; and 19:11-21) with a brief interlude in between describing the great prostitute, the beast, and the fall of Babylon. We also notice the great rejoicing in heaven because the battle will be won, and everyone will be exposed (Revelation 19:1-10), what a glorious day that will be. If we look at the first description of the battle, we see all the enemies of God seeking to destroy everything of Christ (Revelation 16:12-16), commonly referred to as Armageddon. The beast, the false prophets, and other world religions, namely Islam, will make their final push to eradicate the teachings of Christ by integrating them with false doctrine. When we look at the second description of the great battle, we observe the Word of God exposing the enemies of Christ and destroying them on the field of battle (Revelation 19:11-21). The penetrating eyes of Jesus Christ will expose the sins of the world. God’s Word spoken through His faithful remnant and the angels of heaven will be victorious over His enemies. Hallelujah!
