What’s Really Wrong with America?

If we could open the door and see what’s really wrong with the world and particularly with America, what would it be? We could easily say its lawlessness or the lack of love and acceptance that’s created numerous divisions, which continue to splinter to even smaller groups. Or we could take a bolder approach and say its humanity’s rejection of their Savior, Jesus Christ, that’s causing the problem. All this is true but let me suggest that we use a scalpel instead of a sword to look at an even deeper truth that has adversely affected every single person upon the planet since the fall. This is something that the entire world is mostly blind to, unless they look very carefully at the Law of God. This transgression, that we will speak about shortly, is so powerfully sinister that it affects everyone from the cradle to the grave driving most right into the waiting hands of Satan to be controlled as his pawns. This transgression has taken a tremendous hold upon the Christian community where most don’t even see it as a real trespass. In our day this has caused the blameless Bride of Christ to look more like a blushing harlot. This will be a time of great embarrassment for many! I take no great pleasure in writing this article, but I feel compelled to follow the leading of Jesus Christ through the indwelling Spirit.

So, what is this trespass or transgression? Let’s unpack its meaning carefully so we don’t gloss over its diabolical hold upon humanity. The Bible says, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world” (I John 2:16). To see the truth of this sacred Scripture is like a bolt of lightning to the soul. “All that is in the world” is not of the Father! So, what’s in the world that commandeers our affections and inflames our desires? The simple answer is everything! These desires of the flesh run very powerfully throughout all of humanity that drives many into a life of indebtedness or lawlessness to satisfy their many wants and cravings. These desires start with our very first cries as an infant for our warm milk or to be cuddled by our parents and then it proceeds throughout all of life always eager to fulfill our every desire. Whatever we see and desire online or in the store soon becomes an obsession that must be obtained at any cost. These powerful desires or longings can cloud our judgment, control our behavior, and even lead to strong personality changes. In time, our successes in the acquisition of all we desire can lead to displays of egotism and inflated pride; the pride of life.

This lust (or strong desires) of the flesh that’s driving and controlling all of humanity may be tempered with self-discipline or a religious quest but will never be completely solved without the help of our Creator, which we will address later. To fully understand the power of this lust we must now turn our attention to the lust of the eyes. The eyes give us the perception of what we want. Is it the right color or is it the right shape; does it fascinate us, is it pleasing to our eyes or will it satisfy our innermost longings? This lust of the eyes has transformed an entire culture to look thinner, to be properly manicured, to dress more revealing, and to be wonderfully appealing to the point of enticement. Both Social Media and the News Media capitalize on displaying these enticements to keep you scrolling and desiring more of what they have to offer or what they think you desire. We all know that the big screen has been doing this for many years giving the world exactly what they want. It is no wonder that most are working on their second or third marriage while many young people fear the prospects of marriage altogether. It has tragically affected our entire society ignoring the boundaries set up by God in His beautiful commandments.

The boundaries were established thousands of years ago when God delivered His beautiful commandments to His chosen people to be a light to the world. The Bible says, “Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbor’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or anything that is thy neighbor’s” (Deuteronomy 5:21). In those days, they did not have large shopping malls, television advertisements, social media, and online purchasing, so most coveting was directed primarily at the neighbor’s belongings. If the Law was written today it would need to encompass all of society that has coveted everything under the sun. Furthermore, coveting has so completely entered the psyche of mankind that they have always embraced some form of capitalism to fulfill their greatest desires of wealth and prosperity, even if it must be done on the backs of the poor. These desires reside deep in the heart of man taking his every thought captive. He may very well whitewash it with his religion of choice, but he is still driven to acquire all that the world has to offer. Many are known to arise early in the morning to immediately start planning and scheming on how they can have more of the world’s goods. Their entire lives from morning till night is consumed with having more things and how to enjoy the many pleasures in the world. They dream endlessly about getting rich, receiving an inheritance, or even winning a lawsuit.

In our society the poor can also demonstrate the “pride of life” even if it’s just owning one set of nice or fancy-looking clothes or only one well-polished automobile to make his splash upon others who happily cheer him on, causing him to boast even louder. Where is God in all this lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life? He is nowhere to be found unless one truly repents. Remember, this lust of the flesh is not of the Father. This should be a wakeup call, especially for those who can never seem to get enough of the world’s goods. Storage units or rental space have been among the hottest businesses for some time now, as most people are running out of space in their homes to keep all their prized possessions, collected as a result of their unfettered lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes. There is absolutely no end to this powerful lust to have more and more. This lust of the eyes for others have even followed the bride or groom right up to their actual wedding ceremony casting their lustful eyes upon others in the wedding party. Yet, this is the carnal sin that no one is talking about. It’s time to have that conversation before it’s too late, before Christ returns for His blameless Bride and only finds a blushing harlot. It’s past time to wake up and repent!

Perhaps one thing fallen humanity can do to fight this obsession of owning everything their eyes lust after is to learn how to give away what they have to the poor and being satisfied with what they have been given by the hand of God; to be content with what they have. The Bible says, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content” (Philippians 4:11). As we put off the old life and are transformed in Christ, by the indwelling Spirit it will remove our fleshly desires to obtain everything we see. In time we will learn how to be content with what we have and even give away our excess to the poor amongst us. Believe me, this will take a lot of hard work on our part listening to and obeying the indwelling Spirit. We have all grown up in a society and have become so accustomed to having whatever our hearts desire, it will be most difficult to change this mindset. Thanks be to God that in time we will no longer need to fight this old enemy.  The Bible says, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever” (I John 2:17). All glory to God, for we will no longer be referred to as the arrogant gatherers blindly headed for the fiery pits of hell, but we will be set free through repentance and the grace of God.

The Bible says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (I John 2:15)

Why Do We Follow Jesus Christ? (Video)

Not everyone follows or wants to follow God. Remember, dear friends, there was a rebellion in heaven by Satan and his fallen angels, who no longer wanted to follow God. This rebellion has continued for thousands of years and continues today on Planet Earth. Our all-powerful God could have stopped the rebellion then and He has the power and authority to stop it now. God chose not to! Simply and profoundly put, our Mighty God does not want slaves, He wants followers. After watching this video, please share it with others.

Why Do We Follow Jesus Christ?

Not everyone follows or wants to follow God. Remember, dear friends, there was a rebellion in heaven by Satan and his fallen angels, who no longer wanted to follow God. This rebellion has continued for thousands of years and continues today on Planet Earth. Our all-powerful God could have stopped the rebellion then and He has the power and authority to stop it now. God chose not to! Simply and profoundly put, our Mighty God does not want slaves, He wants followers. As a follower of God, I may, like the great Apostles, choose to be a slave but it’s our choice. This is our choice driven by our great unyielding love for our Savior. So, why did Satan and his fallen angels decide to rebel against God, a God of love? Simply put, Satan did not want to just accept his position as “the anointed Cherub” in all his grandeur. (See Ezekiel 28:13-15). In his pride he wanted much more. The Bible says, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! … For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God … I will be like the most High” (Isaiah 14:12-14). The true hallmarks of Satan are his nauseating pride and his outrageous lies. Let’s be very clear Satan is still in rebellion against God, even now upon Planet Earth, to usurp the worship of God!

This rebellion by Satan is in full swing because he knows that his time is short. His greatest desire is to have the worship and adoration of all humanity but especially from those who claim to be Christian. He will lie, cheat, and make empty promises to get their worshipful praise. He longs to hear their chants that proclaim, “We love you” or “Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” He will do all that he can to win the favor and adoration of God’s holy people and the nation of Israel. He will boast greatly of his many accomplishments caused in large part by overturning the many laws and regulations that keep big business in check. Although he may surround himself with Christians, he will not follow their God in humility speaking only the truth. If Satan is really at work in our day, then only weak, unintelligent, and godless people will be put forth as his competitors. There will be no serious thought about the sustainability of the planet. Satan will rejoice at the destruction of the planet as she burns and floods herself into oblivion. Creating peace among the nations is only an illusion. The Bible says, “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape” (I Thessalonians 5:3).

So, my dear children, how do we stand against this Satanic rebellion that’s against God and everything holy? Let me say very clearly, any frontal attack will fail miserably, just as assuredly as this article will fall on many deaf ears. No, what’s needed is returning to our Savior’s plan. This is a plan that’s worked for over two thousand years, showing people the great wonders of following God through His Son, Jesus Christ. This is the Last Days! Although the door to Eternal Life is closing quickly, I believe we still have an opportunity to show people how to follow God and experience their wondrous new life in Christ. Let me give you just a few reasons why we chose to follow God. First and foremost, we believe and am confident that Christ’s death on the Cross paid for all of our sins, past, present, and future. Once we believe and turn from our sins, known as repentance, agreeing to never fall into the same sin, then God no longer remembers the sin. We have a clean slate, we are forgiven. Now God can go to work in our life as a believer. We believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead to give us a new life in Christ. This faith opens the door to heaven and the indwelling Spirit to come and dwell with us; to teach us all things.

Now for the second reason we follow God through Jesus Christ. He promises to make us into a new creation. The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (II Corinthians 5:17). This is a completely different way of thinking for the modern world. Their sciences have taught them that we are a compilation of all our past experiences that define who we are. Hundreds of years have been spent developing the art of behavior modification through endless counseling and approved drug therapy, which have never been proven to work. All of these accepted teachings, also taught in our schools, are a complete contradiction of God’s masterful plan for our new life in Christ. We believe in a new life where old things truly pass away. We believe in the transformation. We believe that the indwelling Spirit is helping us, moment by moment, to put off the old life and to put on the new life in Christ, making us true followers of Jesus Christ. We actually see this work of transformation taking place in our lives by producing spiritual fruit, largely unattainable by the fallen world (See Galatians 5:22-23). We chose to follow God who has given us a new bountiful life in Christ. Every day is a new day! But that’s not all.

We follow God because the indwelling Spirit comes bearing gifts of the Spirit. These are miraculous gifts to equip us for our work in the Kingdom of God. Every believer is given his own gifts, some permanent and some temporary for only when the need arises. I have personally been given the temporary gift of healing on one occasion and the gift of casting out an evil spirit on another. We follow God through Christ for this amazing opportunity to be used in His Kingdom work. I believe my permanent gifts are preaching, teaching, and counseling all to the glory of God. Let me stress that every follower has their own gifts that must be used. Although we may be a bit timid and even afraid to step out in faith to use our gifts, God will give us confidence with great boldness. Oh, what tremendous joy it is to participate in His kingdom work by utilizing your own unique Spiritual gifts with great power. We soon discover that every believer is needed in the Kingdom to help others to become all that God wants them to be. We follow God because we fit perfectly into the fellowship of believers as the true Church where everyone is needed for the common good. What a tremendous joy it is to be a part of something so wonderfully unique.

Finally, as followers of God, we don’t have much interest in political affairs. So, we simply render unto Cesar the things due to Cesar though the obedience of their laws that don’t conflict with God’s law (See Matthew 22:21). As followers of God, we render unto God the things due to God, such as, raising our children to fear and obey God, which is nearly impossible if we send them to public school. We have observed what public education has done for our young people and the direction of this county. We render unto God by being obedient to all of His beautiful commandments. We stand against a culture that condones homosexuality, the transgender, abortion, psychiatric counseling, the use of mind-altering drugs, and the many other perversions of a world gone mad. No, our real interest is in spending time with God in the Spirit through long periods of silence and solitude learning how to listen to His still small voice. Therein is the amazing joy and peace of following Christ. The greatest joy, however, is walking in God’s love by allowing His love to flow through us to others. We pray daily, “Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). Let’s make the Church great again! This is our true hope for the world, which neither political party can produce. Remember dear children, they along with the rest of the world leaders are in total rebellion against God, even if they tell you otherwise. Please keep your eyes wide open!

The Unseen Enemy (Video)

They say, “seeing is believing.” Well, I am here to tell you, that some things unseen is more dangerous than anything you can see with your physical eyes. It’s more dangerous than the so-called deep state or the worst conspiracy theory. This unseen enemy can destroy your life in ways that are hard to imagine. He can do far worse than all the plagues falling upon unrepentant humanity for the consequences of their many sins. The Unseen Enemy

It’s far worse than the raging forest fires, the many earthquakes, the giant tsunamis, the explosive hurricanes, and even the virus taking so many lives. Journey with me to the deepest caverns of your hidden emotions, which can easily border on insanity or stark raving madness. These emotions, safely hid from sight, contain our greatest fears that grip our entire being. In every human, there is the horrific fear of failing, not being accepted, losing our livelihood, maintaining our ability to function, to keep a sound mind, or being destroyed. To go even deeper we see contradicting thoughts pulling us in one direction and then another expressing thoughts of fear that leads to outbursts of anger, hate, and even revenge. Going even deeper we discover, if we are honest, thoughts introduced by the enemy that’s driving everyone in the world a bit mad, as they entertain thoughts of unchecked lawlessness and pure evil spilling into the streets of America and behind every closed door.

It’s these thoughts that will interest us today, thoughts that come directly from the unseen enemy, who is tapping into our old sin nature. Yes, you heard me right. The old sin nature. The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). We are living in a world that has completely forgotten the meaning of sin. It is no longer in their vocabulary. It’s no longer important in a modern age that winks at man’s law and completely ignores God’s law. Any trespass against either law is a sin. There is one very strong emotion that opens the door to the unseen enemy. There is one emotion that allows him to resurrect and inflame the old sin nature, opening the door to explosive anger and open hostility. This emotion is fear. This emotion of fear is so strong that it can bring about blindness searing one’s consciousness of what’s right and what’s wrong. I am convinced that the enemy is using the latest plagues, especially the virus, to engender fear into all the citizens of the world driving many to unchecked lawlessness. Yes, fear has gripped the world allowing the unseen enemy to open the door to their old sin nature and to plant his thoughts into their minds. These thoughts allow them to see everything as the worst-case scenario, allowing their fear to cause other dangerous emotions, such as, brooding, stress, anxiety, and heightened frustration, which will all in time lead to anger and open hostility against their fellow man. We are living in a time of unprecedented lawlessness.

It’s these emotions that lead us to openly strike back at others that have different opinions or a different agenda, who are seen as radical and hurtful. The unseen enemy is successfully dividing the entire world into warring camps bent on the death and destruction of the opposing forces. Both the left and the right are growing more radical in their position constantly thinking of new ways to defeat their enemy. This can easily be seen in both news articles and social media timelines with a ruthlessness unseen in previous generations. Journalists need to use an array of different adjectives to describe their hatefulness, such as slamming, blasting, bashing, hitting back, scorching, scolding, saying harsh things, making accusations, condemning, mocking others, fury erupting at others, or making well-crafted attacks. How many more adjectives can be found to explain what’s happening in the hearts of Americans and in the hearts of those from around the world. Dear friends, it’s not just the weak-minded that’s open to these inflaming thoughts of the unseen enemy. It’s not just the uneducated or the poor but every class of people who have grown increasingly fearful. Unfortunately, this also includes many who call upon the Name of the Lord because they have not learned how to stand against the silent enemy.

We must fight back! Our enemy is not the left or the right. Our enemy is not black, brown, red, or yellow. Our enemy is much greater than what we can see. The Bible says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). We cannot close our eyes to the unseen enemy because he is real. The picture of wrestling with someone shows the close proximity of the enemy. This is not some government power in a distant land. This is not some political power seeking to destroy us. This is not even our greatest known enemies. On the other hand, we wrestle with a much greater power that seeks to reside in our own hearts. We wrestle against the lies and conspiracy theories that keep our heads spinning and our hearts more fearful. We wrestle against the false doctrines of religion and other beliefs seeking to invade our minds causing many to doubt the truth of their salvation casting them into even greater fear of eternal damnation. We wrestle against lawlessness being peddled on the streets of our great cities and in the classrooms of our universities that engenders fear of a world gone mad. This is a battle for the mind and heart of humanity seeking to drive them stark raving mad doing things to others in their riots and mayhem that shock our sensibilities. This unseen enemy is the powers of darkness.

We see this happening so greatly today because so many have turned their back on God. We knew this day would come, a day of complete lawlessness. They no longer trust in God’s ability to stand against this great force of evil that’s invaded our world. A strengthened military will not defeat this enemy. A stronger blue line will not defeat this enemy. This is a spiritual war that must be defeated by the Spirit, the Spirit of the living God living in us. This ability has been freely given to all of God’s beloved children. We simply must take it. We must believe that we have been given the grace to stand against the rulers of the darkness. We must believe that we have been given the strength to stand against spiritual wickedness in high places. Yes, as true believers in Christ we have been given everything we need to take our stand against the enemy who is seeking to inflame our old sin nature by tapping into all of our emotions. I hope that you are beginning to see that secular counseling and mind-altering drugs will not effectively deal with our emotions, especially our most formidable emotion, fear. The only thing that will work against this most powerful force is putting on the full armor of God.

It won’t help to yell at the devil, otherwise, you may discover that you are simply yelling at yourself. If you really want to stop the devil and stand against the powers of darkness, then we must put on the full armor of God (See my book “Stand Firm” that goes into much greater detail about each piece of armor). To put on the full armor is to accept the salvation of Jesus Christ (See Ephesians 6:15), to grow in His truth and righteousness (See Ephesians 6:14), and to yield His powerful Word with all prayer (See Ephesians 6:17-18). The key to standing firm against this silent enemy, the powers of darkness, is continued spiritual growth, growing from one degree of glory to another by putting off the old life and putting on the new life in Christ (See Ephesians 4:21-24). To do so, will strengthen your trust and faith in Christ alone to deliver you from all of your dangerous and unpredictable emotions of the old sin nature. As the whole world goes mad, the children of God will stand fearlessly against all that’s falling upon the world by extending their love to others rather than hate. We as His beloved children will be the only ones truly practicing non-retaliation and seeing its great miracle of disarming our assailants. Stand firm dear children and don’t be overcome by the evil powers invading all of humanity.
