In The Blink of an Eye

If you lived for 125 years, compared to eternity that would only be in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately, most live far less than that because of the increase in new diseases, viruses, and other health-related issues. Some have their life ended early because of lawlessness, immorality, and abortion. Others enter death early because of wars, famines, and increasing natural disasters or global warming. Furthermore, over 1 million people die of car accidents every year globally; their lives too have changed in the blink of an eye. We are all dying. Our life span on planet earth is truly in the blink of an eye compared to eternity. Because of the original sin in the Garden of Eden, then we will all die (Genesis 3). While death is inevitable, most try to live their lives to the fullest with no thought of their eventual demise. On the other hand, we can plan for everlasting life now and experience a foretaste of heaven with a joy that’s beyond description. We have all been given a choice to pass on to eternal bliss in the presence of a loving God or to spend eternity separated from God in the fires of hell, which is conditioned on how we respond to the call from heaven. This is one call you don’t want to miss.

Unfortunately, most will miss the call. They will literally run from the good news or be put off by our quest for righteousness in Christ. They simply do not want to give up their beliefs and their so-called freedom to do whatever pleases them. They no longer want to struggle against the constant bombardment of evil thoughts brought on by the powers of darkness. So, they give in to their thoughts allowing it to consume them. Many have already been captured by the spirit of Antichrist that justifies their immoral behavior leading them into a socially accepted life of gross immorality. They have also been led astray to trust in all the new scientific beliefs that have explained away God’s beautiful creation and His order of things. They are being led to trust in Artificial Intelligence to give the correct answer to all things bringing a consensus among fallen humanity, to bring them out of chaos. Many others will consider the calling, then they will abruptly refuse or end the call because they are too busy building their life here on planet earth. They quickly get involved in schooling, new jobs, careers, building their new homes, romance, and starting a family along with many other things. They simply don’t have time to answer the call, yet they have no idea when their life will end. It could end in the blink of an eye.

If we answer the call, then our eyes will be fully opened to see that life on planet Earth is meant to prepare us for eternity. Those who have answered the call and surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ have also realized that being in Christ through faith changes everything. Somehow time seems to stop for those who keep in step with the Spirit, who miraculously opens and closes doors to the glory of God. Our time is joyously spent in prayer and meditation allowing God to grow us from one degree of glory to another. With our new Spiritual eyes, we see things differently. Time is no longer a bondage but real freedom to allow God to set our agenda for each day knowing that it will be different and exciting as we trust in Him exclusively to direct our path. Preparation takes on a whole new dimension realizing that we were not created to live completely alone but to live in a community with others. Face-to-face relationships take precedence over everything. We learn how to truly live with one another by living for others and not for ourselves. The more we master this self-giving agape love the more eternity comes into focus. We experience the glory of heaven on earth.

As we prepare for eternity realizing that our existence on planet earth is only in the blink of an eye, then our love for the world and the things of the world completely changes. We have a great love for God’s creation from the beautiful flowers to the amazing trees and the marvelous bushes. We see all of God’s creatures in a different light as living breathing beings that have a purpose in His beautiful creation. So, forgive me if we talk to the birds and the other little creatures scurrying about along with the beautiful growing plants. There is a new loving respect for all of God’s creation from the pristine rivers and lakes to the tall mountains and deep lush valleys. I am sure all this beauty on earth is just a foretaste of things to come in the new heavens and the new earth. We take a different view of the rest of the world created by self-righteous men. Everything they have made will pass away from cars, houses, monuments, and buildings to clothes and luxury items.  We no longer love the things of the world as our hearts are now filled with a deep love for others and God’s beautiful creation.

Yes, everything will pass away in the blink of an eye. We need to ask ourselves a question. “Are we preparing for the best life possible here knowing that it will end in the blink of an eye or are we preparing for eternity?” The Bible says, “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God” (Philippians 1:9-11). This is a beautiful prayer by the Apostle Paul to live as heavenly citizens with our eyes focused on the eternity. We let our love abound more and more by allowing God’s love to flow through us every time we come into proximity with others. This is not a frivolous, insensitive, and uncaring love but a love full of knowledge and judgment (or discernment). This kind of love is always seeking the best for others. With the eyes of knowledge, we look to meet not their felt needs but their real needs, which are often hidden from public view. With the eyes of Spiritual discernment and a silent prayer, we can detect their real needs to be met. Only with knowledge and discernment can we approve what would be right or excellent in our relationships. As we truly live for others, we have a glorious foretaste of heaven.

Furthermore, this abounding love must always be sincere without making an offense. A sincere love always speaks the truth being careful not to make an offense. This is often a fine line between helping others with a needed admonition without offending them with what might appear as rank cruelty. We must do everything we can to prove that our love is sincere, never meant to hurt and tear down, but to help and build up others in Christ. We will do this continuously until the Day of Christ, compared to eternity it is only in the blink of an eye. The good news is, the more we allow God to love others through us the more we will store up the fruits of righteousness that will remain with us for all eternity to the glory and praise of God. The fruits of righteousness will not only change us but all those around us. As the world sinks deeper and deeper into depravity, our righteousness will appear as a bright light overcoming the darkness. Humanity will repent and come to the light, or they will furiously rise up against us bringing forth horrific persecution. The bright light of our righteousness will either open a door to share the Gospel or it will drive a deeper wedge between us and darkness. In the blink of an eye, we will know where we stand as darkness is revealed.

Take courage dear children, come out from among them knowing that our victory in Christ will come in the blink of an eye. We take confidence in what we believe, knowing that the truth has set us free from all the lies of a fallen world. We have accepted the call of salvation by faith alone, we have accepted the call of faith, the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, in His death on the Cross paid for the sins of the entire world. We have followed Christ in His death on the Cross by dying to self, our old sin nature. As Christ rose from the grave in three days, we too have risen with Christ as a new creation in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17). During our short time on earth we have prepared for eternity every moment of every day by putting off the old life and putting on the new life in Christ (Ephesians 4:17-32). This is our testimony. We know that in a blink of an eye we will be delivered from all the pain and suffering in the world. We look forward to being clothed with our new bodies like the original creation before the fall. We look forward to a deeper and more intimate relationship with God and all of His creation. In the blink of an eye, we will overcome. In the blink of an eye, we will become all that God has called us to become as we step into eternity. All glory to God.

Patience in the Coming Destruction

There is destruction coming upon the whole world that will drive humanity to horrific shock and the depth of unimaginable despair. We can spend hours discussing what will cause the destruction and even longer following the world in useless preparation or we can seek the risen Lord. As we seek the risen Lord through deep prayer and meditation, then we learn what’s been lost for a millennium. We learn that the patience of the saints will be our sure defense against the Antichrist spirit. The patience of the saints will give us the inner strength to maintain our spiritual integrity and a peace that truly defies understanding. We will be unmovable as our brazen face confronts the raging storms ahead. Our hearts and minds will be captured by the radiant bliss from heaven allowing us to look beyond all that is falling upon a world gone mad. Sadly to say, this is a world that has pathetically turned to evil in mass. So, how can we, living in the Twenty-First Century, recapture this amazing gift, given to our ancient forefathers, the patience of the saints? We will accept this gift one step at a time by allowing God to bring us into a deeper walk with Him. Our deeper walk with Christ, will allow us to stand firm in the patience of the saints as we are tried with the fires of affliction. Continue reading Patience in the Coming Destruction

Grasping the Benefits of Christ

If the human race really grasped the benefits of Christ everything around us would immediately change. We have had many people, some no doubt wiser than myself, try to explain the grandeur and majesty of these benefits. There have been hundreds, perhaps thousands, of pages written by some of our most ardent Christian scholars to plummet the depths of this most profound mystery. I dare say, over the centuries, there have only been very few in each age that has truly understood the great mysteries and benefits of Christ. These are bright lights shining in the darkness. These are the ones who have touched the very essence of Christianity through the indwelling Holy Spirit. These are the ones who have sat long at the Savior’s feet waiting for Him to open their minds to His abiding presence. They have waited patiently to understand the glorious benefits of being in Christ, to experience the great joy, and peace that truly defies understanding. As we fast approach the end it’s essential that we fully grasp the benefits of Christ. Let me encourage you to fully grasp the benefits of Christ and not settle for what can be seen on YouTube or social media. Please don’t settle for what the lukewarm church is offering. Anticipating the Glories of Heaven

What is your anticipation of heaven? Most of the western world has been captivated by the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, causing many to ponder their own deaths and the hereafter. Although they may not be vocal about their own coming deaths and their anticipation of heaven, I suggest that many are pondering those thoughts deep within their own hearts. So, I am asking you to pause for a moment of silence, look to heaven, and let us ponder the glories of heaven together. Let us approach the throne of grace together asking our Lord Jesus Christ to show us the unspeakable glories of heaven. As our static existence measured by time no longer exists, we enter into the glories of eternity. We are no longer captive to time and space but set free to experience all of creation in a timeless environment. Can you imagine the glory of not being locked into time, but having the ability to travel to the stars in the blink of an eye? I hope and pray that every believer in Christ has thought much about the glories of heaven and has their own anticipation based on their personal walk with Jesus Christ and Holy Scripture. Living as Citizens of Heaven

Most every person is a citizen of their respective country with certain rights and privileges. Most of these citizenships are bequeathed at the time of birth. Some are seeking to change their citizenship while others are content with remaining as aliens in a foreign land. Either way, they pridefully assimilate into their new country expecting to receive all the same rights and privileges. Today I want to talk to you about a different kind of citizenship that can’t be earned or pridefully assimilated. This citizenship can only be given at the time of our rebirth or transformation in Christ. This glorious new citizenship is in heaven even while we reside as aliens upon the earth. Although technically we keep our citizenship on earth in our respective countries, we are no longer beholden to its ideology, its humanistic ideals, and its inclusiveness. There is a great difference between our heavenly citizenship and citizenship of the world. When true believers embrace their heavenly citizenship, then they embrace the ideology and exclusiveness of the Kingdom of God and are not beholden to the dictates of their respective countries, which are diametrically opposed. However, this is not what we see in the modern day. Many Christians are beholden to the dictates of their respective countries. Continue reading Living as Citizens of Heaven
