Living in a sin filled world where every segment of society is practicing their sin in the open daily from the highest to the lowest among us we are compelled to ask the question, “As a Christian are we growing insensitive to sin?” It was not that long ago as believers we would be appalled to witness some of the sin we see in our world today. Please share with others.
Most believers understand that sin is wrong. They know how important forgiveness is and the price Christ paid to give it. They also know the importance of repentance and dying to the old sin nature. However, living in a sin filled world where every segment of society is practicing their sin in the open daily from the highest to the lowest among us we are compelled to ask the question, “As a Christian are we growing insensitive to sin?” It was not that long ago as believers we would be appalled to witness some of the sin we see in our world today. Was the sin there all along or were we just blind to it? Or was everything done in secret behind closed doors? Or have we as a world just gotten more-evil? Perhaps we can answer all these in the affirmative. Have we grown insensitive to sin to the point where we can just overlook it and not be too bothered by it? Insensitive to the point where we can gaze upon it, we can watch it, we can read about it and we can even share it with others. As we shall see this did not happen overnight. It took a very long time for people, especially believers, to feel comfortable enough to look at the sin and have no problem sharing it with others. Where is the joy and excitement we once had when we first came to know the Lord Jesus Christ? For many, they feel its been lost forever and whatever joy or excitement they do experience, it’s like a meteor lighting up the night sky for one joyous moment and then disappearing. So how do we keep that joy and excitement alive, especially in our older age when we are fraught with illnesses, physical limitations and unusual maladies? How do we keep it alive when we are facing various trials and tribulations? The simple answer, which begs for an explanation, is get back in the race. Unfortunately, many well many Christians are still sitting on the sidelines allowing Christianity to become little more than a good habit with poor results. So how do we leave this quagmire of constant learning without meaningful application; how do we return to the joy of our salvation where every day is a new day in the Lord filled with unbelievable excitement? Get back in the race. The Bible says, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2). From the Introduction
Other books may show you how to pray whereas this book will take you by the hand and lead you in prayer, to kneel down and touch the face of God. Every Christian, those of the faithful remnant, who have taken these prayers unto themselves and pray them to God, will make these prayers their own. Therefore, we can rightly say that these prayers are “for” the faithful remnant because your prayers from this little book once prayed will ascend up to Heaven. They will ascend as a great chorus beseeching the Lord of glory to apply these prayers to your life and the world around you. As the author of these prayers, I have simply been the scribe. I had the privilege to sit at the Master’s feet every morning while in the Spirit allowing Him to dictate the needs and the direction of the faithful remnant living during these perilous times. These prayers are built on one another, as you progress throughout the year you will discover that they are woven together like a divine tapestry, with one eye on world events and the other on the sacred texts of God’s Word. These prayers came from my prayer closet guided by select biblical text, all 127 commands found in the New Testament, and many of the “one-another” Statements. These are prayers to strengthen your walk of faith in a hostile world. As you pray through each of these prayers in the Spirit they will be etched into your memory that will keep you from falling into temptation and the snare of the devil. These prayers to the God of heaven through the indwelling Spirit will help you along life’s journey allowing Him to transform you into a beautiful new creation to the glory of God.
