Most Christians will not be persecuted. It’s really quite simple; if Satan has won your heart and allegiance then there is no reason to persecute you. If he has you trusting in his counsel and psychiatric drugs then he has already won your allegiance. If has you accepting other world religions as equal to yours then he has already won your heart. If he has you making room in your faith for homosexuals, the transgender, and every other perversion then he has already won your allegiance and there will be no need to persecute you. I am afraid in the end, there will only be a small minority or faithful remnant, who will not defy the faith, but accept persecution, if captured by those in power. With Jade Helm in the South and now in other parts of the United States one can’t help wondering if that will affect the Christian and his conservative beliefs in Biblical morality. My Bible teaches me to reject homosexuality, abortion, psychiatric drug addiction, and many other sins accepted by our society and the current administration. With ISIS making threats to attack targets in the United States one can’t help wondering if Christians will be selected as soft targets. In such cases we may not get an opportunity to flee or fight back. With the coming New World Order Christians can’t help wondering if they will be persecuted for their faith and trust in God alone. Persecution in one manner or another is coming to those who claim to be Christian. So the question must be asked, where and when do we flee persecution? Before we answer that question it must be made very clear that under no circumstances does a Christian ever deny his or her faith if captured by the evil doer. In such cases the Christian may well suffer intense persecution that could lead to a ghastly death. Throughout Christian History up to the present day Christians have stood firmly in the face of their persecutors making the good confession and committing their life to Jesus. I have always taken comfort in the words of Jesus who said, “But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak” (Matthew 10:19), which shows me that Christ is right there with me going through the same sufferings. We live in a world where there is little patience and virtually no patient endurance. Take a drive on any highway in this country or others, and you will soon agree that patience is replaced with impatience. Cars rushing about, speeding, and cutting you off, and always in a hurry to get somewhere. Rarely do you arrive relaxed and free of stress. Fast food was developed and has become successful because people are unwilling to take the time to sit down and eat. Sit-down restaurants are also successful, with waiting lines seven days a week because people are unwilling to take the time to prepare a meal. In a fast-paced world where everything is expected yesterday, it’s a paradox because lines get longer, the number of prompts increase while you are on hold, and the daily commute becomes intolerable. We live in a very impatient world. Continue reading Endure Patiently
It is essential to see that Christian persecution is not being led forth in all glory with a bleacher full of fellow believers rooting for you and encouraging you to stand firm. Although if one pulled back the spiritual veil you would see a great cloud of witnesses doing just that, but here upon the earth I am afraid it will be much more sinister. I believe that most of us have no idea what it feels like to be treated like a criminal. Most of us would not want to even imagine it, but we must seriously think about it. Don’t think for a minute that Christian persecution is anything different than being treated like a criminal. Christians since the beginning have been persecuted not because they were nice loving people but because they were perceived to be criminals of the first order. We have seen this for two thousand years beginning with our Lord Jesus Christ who was arrested on the charges of blasphemy and accused of sedition against the Roman Empire for claiming to be a King. This was followed by the early Christians being accused of being cannibals for eating the flesh of Jesus and drinking His blood during their love feast. Then Rome justified their persecution by claiming that they were arsons, burning down a section of the city, which destroyed homes and businesses of their fellow citizens. As I have already written Christians were also persecuted on the charge of sedition for claiming to follow another King rather than Caesar as lord. Continue reading Christian Persecution
