We can all disagree on eschatology and the timing of Christ’s Second Coming, but we cannot disagree on our need for repentance. My concern as a pastor for many years is that most don’t have a full understanding of what they need to repent of and more importantly how to properly repent. Most people qualify their need for repentance by what they see in others. If they see others on the news or social media with what they perceive as a much greater sin, then it often leads them to overlook the sin in their own lives. It’s very easy for the self-righteous to look down on others while ignoring their own so-called little sins. Therefore, our goal is to stop judging others, so that we have ample time to examine our own sins. Yes, it will take a great deal of time and effort to look within to examine our own character, our own thinking, and our own behavior. If we are honest, then we will soon discover that we all need repentance, including ourselves. Let’s look at the process together on how to look within to discover every unknown sin that has clouded our eyesight, then we will discuss the process of true repentance. Why Do Bad Things Happen?
The question most asked, even by professed followers of Christ is, “Why do bad things happen to me?” That’s a great question. It is a question that’s been asked since the beginning of time. It is a question that has haunted humanity since the dawn of history. If you seriously want to know the answer, keep reading. This is a question that must be brought before the Lord in deep prayer and meditation, taking time to listen to His every word. We live in a day where the age-old understanding of fate has resurfaced, especially among the unbelievers. Unbelievers now espouse their senseless rhetoric, “That things just happen” solidifying their belief in fate. This is a belief that everything that happens is beyond our control, contrary to what we do or don’t do; if we are bad or good it makes no difference to the outcome. Although this kind of thinking may help them to accept the onslaught of bad things happening to them, it doesn’t answer the question. It only delays the inevitable, which often leads to stress, psychological trauma, mental illnesses, or something far worse, eternal separation from God. Continue reading Why Do Bad Things Happen?

And for those who try to help you find your way, you soon discover that they are also lost, pointing you in one direction and then in another. Most people in the world today feel lost, which can cause them great fear. This awful feeling of fear can be compared to the unrelenting dreams, that many have experienced, where the scenery and strangers keep changing as one struggles to find their way or make sense of what’s happening. This feeling of being lost can last for what seems like hours. And for those who try to help you find your way, you soon discover that they are also lost, pointing you in one direction and then in another. It’s like many are suffering from some repressive psychological problem acting one way and then another. Then, you discover that it’s not a dream! Welcome to the real world of today. Nothing makes any sense. It’s like everyone is on their own little quest to discover the latest conspiracy theory or uncovering some unknown prophecy, trying desperately to make sense of a world gone mad. The lostness and fear are heightened as people continually point fingers at one another, finding fault, bashing one another, or making excuses for their bad behavior. This is all covered meticulously by the news media and followed closely by social media dragging the entire nation through the same drama. After many days of prayer and meditation, the answer finally comes. The world is being prepared for its savior. Continue reading The World’s Being Prepared for a Savior
