After reading the full text of Netanyahu’s foreign policy speech I was greatly encouraged that a true foundation has been laid for a cessation of hostility and the possibility of peace if all parties concerned follow the conditions set forth. As a Christian who has prayed for years that the state of Israel would have a lasting peace, I ask myself why Christians from around the world are not united in an effort to help Israel achieve a lasting peace in their own homeland. Therefore, I personally call on all Christians in every land (including Palestine) to pray first to our Messiah, Jesus Christ, and also to put pressure on their respective leaders through peaceful demonstrations to support Israel in the peace plan outlined by Mr. Netanyahu. Good News in Desperate Times
In these desperate times billions of people from around the world are searching for answers to life’s problems. They seek to understand the worsening economy, the increase in lawlessness, natural disasters, wars and famine. They cry out to their spiritual leaders of Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism or other world religions. They seek the advise and counsel of psychologist, philosophers, news commentators and even internet bloggers. And through all this the world still finds itself in bondage to the lies of Satan unable to break free. Jesus Christ, the Son of the one true God, said the “truth will set you free.” Continue reading Good News in Desperate Times
Rebellion and the Lukewarm Church
This world is in its present trouble and distress because men and women have rebelled against God. They have blurred the lines of Christianity’s exclusiveness between other world religions and are reaping the fruits of their own evil deeds. God is pouring His punishment down upon them because the hour of His judgment has come. In this country rebellion against God has reached a level never seen before in Christian history. In the past twenty years I have personally witnessed an unholy exchange in America. Continue reading Rebellion and the Lukewarm Church
Trials: Our Path to Perfection
All three Apostles (John, Paul, and James) agree that the testing of our faith produces endurance and that if endurance be allowed to take its stand it will bring about the perfection in our life that Christ desires. (I Peter 1:6-7; Romans 5:3-5) The Bible says, “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.” (Acts 14:22b)
Going Through Trials Are Necessary
This means we do not have a choice! That all must go through many hardships, difficulties, trials, periods of suffering, tribulation, and to some degree even persecution. No Christian is exempt from these hardships. This is not just in the beginning but throughout our Christian pilgrimage.
Yet the church leads many people to accept Christ as their Savior and never tells them that these things will happen as sure as the sun rises in the East. The church as a whole is negligent to share this with the new disciples in Christ. And for those who have been Christians for many years can attest that this is true.
The question we must ask this morning… Continue reading Trials: Our Path to Perfection
His Powerful Word
Dear friends, I make no apology for believing in the Word of God as both authoritative and sufficient for all of life and godliness. I am a Bible believing preacher because I am convinced that it changes lives. I have seen it happen in my own life and I have also seen it happen in the lives of others. It is a great joy to see people saved. It is even a greater joy to see them grow in their spiritual walk with the Lord.
His Powerful Word is all we need for Life and Godliness (v3)
The church lives in the age of information and worldly wisdom. She has drifted away from preaching God’s Word alone. It is no longer seen as sufficient to meet the needs of modern man. God’s divine power is all we need for life and godliness. This is the same power that created the universe and everything in it. It is the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the grave. It is the same power that brings life to those who are dead in their trespasses and sins. But how do we get this power?
