Shelter in Place an Enigma in Disguise

With all the evil things in the world today, we hear a lot about “shelter in place.” Every time there’s a mass shooting or a disaster we usually hear this refrain and we all know what to do. Don’t move from the area, take cover, and remain silent. We are not meant to fight back, but hide. For many, if not most, it’s the loneliest time in their life. You are left completely alone with your fears, your anxiety and the unknown. The dark daunting unknown. Almost anything these days could cause us to shelter in place, from mass shootings to natural disasters; and, from martial law to a nuclear attack as we hear it over the loud speakers or on emergency radios. Yet, this is an enigma in disguise, because where is the real shelter? You are hiding, hunkered down, behind an unlocked door or in your home, but where is the real shelter? Where is the solace, or the comfort that everything is ok? For those in the world there is no real shelter. Shelter in place is an enigma, but for the believers it should be different. Let me show you how. Continue reading Shelter in Place an Enigma in Disguise

Are You Prepared for the World’s Greatest Disaster?

The world’s greatest disaster looms on the horizon like a grizzly bear awakening from his hibernation. It’s certain, it’s going to happen, we need to be ready. The time is short. Everything is pointing in that direction. The weather is getting more extreme producing more powerful and violent storms, earthquakes are increasing in number and severity, global epidemics are more plausible, the aggressiveness between competing ideologies is turning violent and the mad man in the East continues to threaten the United States homeland by launching a nuclear strike. The instability in the world today beckons for us to prepare. But how should we prepare? Preparing physically with the best laid plans for survival simply will not be enough to stand firm. It’s essential that we prepare not only physically, but emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. To do so will not only help us to survive a global disaster, but it will also help us to overcome the great deception, coming on the heels of a major disaster. Coming Now! No Escape from Tribulation

We have all heard the doomsday prophets. We have all heard about the coming tribulation. We have all heard about a coming world war, a meteor falling from the sky, or a worldwide pandemic, but what we haven’t heard is what’s happening now. Very little is spoken about the trials and tribulations that’s effecting the world right now, where most are facing very tragic circumstances beyond what they can handle or in a life of bondage stripping them of all hope. The struggles are great. Many wonder how much more can they handle. Fear has gripped the world. Islamic terrorism, murders, riots, regional wars, and natural disasters are only the tip of the iceberg on what’s really effecting humanity. Humanity is about to explode and there is nothing they can do about it. We can blame it on the current administration or many other things such as global warming, but the real blame is much deeper than what most will admit. Continue reading Coming Now! The Helmet of Salvation

Today’s article continues an eight week series on the armor of God. A very important part of being prepared spiritually for the “End Times” is being dressed in and utilizing the whole armor of God for Satan will be extremely powerful and even more deceptive because he knows that his time is short. The next piece of armor to be put on by the Christian soldier is the helmet of salvation. If the devil cannot discourage you with doubt concerning your mission, then he will attack your very salvation. If he can get you to question the assurance of your salvation, then he has stopped you dead in your tracks. You will precede no further because your eyes are now back on self questioning your own salvation. The devil has silenced many Christians this way. Not only have they been silenced, but their spiritual growth has been stunted, and in many respects the transformation process has been halted. Dear friend, you must not let the old devil knock off the helmet of your salvation. Some Christians argue against the assurance of salvation because of what they see in nominal Christians. They question how a person can claim to be saved and act like the devil. They question the assurance of their salvation because they see no spiritual fruit. Indeed, some people do have false assurance because they are not really saved. They may publicly ask Jesus Christ to come into their heart with great joy, join a church, and be baptized. But they are like the ones in the parable told by our Lord where some quickly fell away when trouble or persecution came. There are others who hear the Word but do nothing with it because the worries of this life and deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful (see Matthew 13:21-22). Clearly these people are not Christians, and many of them rest under a false assurance of salvation. Continue reading The Helmet of Salvation

The Shield of Faith

Today’s article continues an eight week series on the armor of God. A very important part of being prepared spiritually for the “End Times” is being dressed in and utilizing the whole armor of God for Satan will be extremely powerful and even more deceptive because he knows that his time is short. The shield of faith is the next piece of armor to be put on by the Christian soldier. As the Christian soldier goes deep into enemy territory to rescue the perishing the devil will hurl a volley of flaming arrows to discourage you in your pursuit. Upon receiving one of his arrows, you may experience strong emotions of fear, emptiness, aloneness, and doubt that comes in an instant when you least expect it, and then your spirit cries out in anguish begging for someone to listen to your plight. These arrows are all the more destructive in power. They have the ability to pierce and seriously wound the soldier. When the piercing arrows of depression, anger, and fear are filling the air, we must learn to take refuge behind the shield of faith (see Proverbs 30:5).  As we come together as believers, we can link our faith-shields to ward off the devil’s darts.
