Finding Our Way in a World of Confusion

In the beginning, Christianity was called the Way because it showed those living in darkness how to find their way to the light. Unfortunately, we once again have lost our way as the whole world stumbles around in darkness with little power and no direction. Once again, we have become like little children seeking to learn the first principles of our faith. Instead of following the Way, new converts are congratulated for accepting Christ and then given a few do’s and don’ts, particularly about Church membership, but never shown the Way. They may even impress upon the new believers their need to speak calmly, not to lose their temper, and not curse. On the outside, they learn well how to act like Christians as they become experts at hiding their true intentions, their anger, their frustration, and even their lack of faith. They think that they are following the Way, but they are still in darkness. As a result, the Church keeps dividing with every new doctrine re-discovered or highlighted by self-righteous man. They say, “Come over here for I have found the way,” and the church is divided once again. It’s rather tragic as everyone learns how to express his own small opinion, allowing the world’s humanistic ways to flood the Church.

On the other hand, we must rediscover the Way or all will be lost. Fallen humanity rejoices as the dividing lines between all the different religions and faiths begin to fade. They glory in the fact that secular humanism is the thread that holds them all together as the true Way becomes lost in the annals of Christian history. Secular humanism has allowed mankind to develop his own way that fits neatly into any world religion and the social fabric of the entire world. This new way teaches mankind how he can overcome all of his emotional and psychological problems while winking at the god of his choice. When disaster strikes the church leaders are not summoned to help the distressed, rather they turn to the professional secular counselors in each country, contrary to their religious preference, to render counsel. The new world religion has already arrived showing people the false way and they wonder why their lives don’t improve. They wonder why they still need to struggle with depression. They wonder why they still struggle with anxiety and loneliness. They wonder quietly among their selves where’s the power to change. However, God’s beloved children, His faithful remnant, will not only rediscover the Way but they will walk in it, to the glory of God.

To discover the Way, we must leave the darkness and come fully into the light believing that God will give us everything we need for life and godliness (See II Peter 1:3-4). Some say that this is a leap of faith because the world and everything in the world teaches the opposite. From the cradle to the grave they teach you that you must solve your own problems. This is made possible through their higher schools of learning, their great thinkers, scientist, doctors, and professionals of psychiatry. Yet, it is God the Creator of all that exists who promises to give His children everything they need for life and godliness. God created you and knows exactly what you need, so that information must come from Him alone. Christ wants to show us a new and living Way. In fact, He is the Way. He is the great power that holds everything together. This same creative power will make us into a new creation so that Christ can come and dwell in us through the Holy Spirit. As we learn how to pray and meditate to the Father through Christ then He brings the Bible to life showing us that He alone has the answers to depression and every other emotional and psychological problem. He begins His work inside us showing us how to control our thoughts that lead to action. Step by step we are transformed into the perfect image of His Son, Jesus Christ.

So, if Christ is in us giving us the light of His glory then why would we run back to the world allowing them to teach us how to live life? Here is the problem, most who call upon the Name of Christ attempt to live in both worlds at the same time. They seek to live in the light while living in the darkness. In so doing they are led into greater confusion. I am not asking you to accept Christ, I am asking you to follow Him, for He is the Way. If you truly believe that Christ has made you into a new creation, where old things have passed away; and you also believe that He will give you everything you need for life and godliness, then there is only one thing left. We must die to self so that we can follow Jesus Christ in the Way. We learn very quickly that we can’t, but He can. We must allow Christ to do His work through us. That’s why true believers always give God all the glory. The Spiritual gifts are His gifts working through us casting out evil, raising the sick, and doing great wonders and miracles. The power of our witness is Jesus Christ working through us to breakdown walls and overcome empires. The more we die to self, the more Christ works through us so powerfully. If we don’t attempt to do it in our own power, then He will do it through us, to the glory of His Father in heaven.

The Bible says, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:17). If God had sent His beloved Son to condemn the world then no one could be saved. On the other hand, Jesus Christ does judge the world leaving them room for repentance. Let’s be clear that Christ loves the entire world desiring to save everyone from every race, nationality, and religious upbringing. He will judge but not condemn and neither should we. His mission is to save the entire world by showing them the Way, the only Way to the Father. To show them the only Way to a new bountiful life in Christ. Although the world is in the deepest chasm of darkness, Christ still wants to work through us showing people the Way, the only Way to eternal life. Now here is the power that will enlighten the heart even in the deadest sinner. Christ died for us on the Cross to pay the penalty for our sins, then on the third day He arose from the grave and is now seated in heaven at the right hand of the Father. If we die with Him, by dying to self, then we will live with Christ in the newness of life. The simple Gospel will show us the Way, but it takes faith to receive it.

The Third Step to Transformation in Christ is Love (Video)

We have seen in the last article in the series transformation in Christ that understanding and using our unique Spiritual gifts was the second step. Now as God’s Word says, “But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way” (I Corinthians 12:31). Of course, that most excellent way is both a Spiritual gift and a fruit of the Spirit, which I am calling our third step to transformation in Christ. After watching the video on my secure website, please share with others.

The Third Step to Transformation in Christ is Love

We have seen in the last article in the series transformation in Christ that understanding and using our unique Spiritual gifts was the second step. Now as God’s Word says, “But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way” (I Corinthians 12:31). Of course, that most excellent way is both a Spiritual gift and a fruit of the Spirit, which I am calling our third step to transformation in Christ. This is the gift that opens the floodgates of Heaven because true love comes from God. Let’s be clear right in the beginning, we cannot conjure up this love. It either comes from God or it’s not true love. God is Love. His greatest desire is to love His creation. In fact, the miracle is He chooses to love others through us. We simply cannot out love God. Do you really want to feel God’s love then allow His love to flow through you to others? This is your next step to transformation in Christ. Looking at the Signs or at Your Walk?

Stop looking at the signs and start looking at your walk. So many in today’s world are obsessed at looking at the signs. From viewing one YouTube video after another to listening to every new false prophet that comes along, the Christian community is being forced further into captivity by the prince of darkness. Signs are important otherwise Christ would not have given them. Signs are like signpost that give directions and alerts us when we are close to our destination. To concentrate only on the signs and not the many other things necessary to be a good and safe driver would not only be foolish, but could end in tragedy. Well, it’s the same way when it comes to concentrating on the signs of Christ’s Second Coming and not on the many things it takes to be faithful followers of Christ. Yes, many things. So many things that Jesus Christ gave us the indwelling Spirit to remind us of everything He said and taught. The Bible says, “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit, when he the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…” (John 16:12-13a). So, stop looking constantly at the signs and pay attention to your driving. Stop obsessing on the signs of Christ’s return in Glory and let’s agree to spend more time in preparation for His arrival by listening to God through the Spirit. Without the Spirit, the Bible would not be discernible. It would be a nice history book and wise teachings from an ancient Teacher, but remiss of Spiritual power. The power necessary for spiritual growth and faithfulness to God. Continue reading Looking at the Signs or at Your Walk?

I’m With You Always

It was Jesus Christ who said, “I am with alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20). Now, I do realize that some translations like the NIV indicate that Jesus said, He would only be with us until the end of the age, which could be at the end of the Jewish Age, or the age of the gentiles, but clearly that is not what was said. Contrary to the modern versions of the Bible the King James Version clearly says, that Jesus Christ will be with us until the end of the world. Every believer knows that Jesus Christ is with us through the Holy Spirit that resides in each one of us, giving us conviction, comfort, counsel, and direction.  So as we approach the end of days we should take great comfort in the fact that He will be with us until the end of the world. I daily, look forward to receiving His wonderful counsel in a day of great confusion when we are all, being pulled in different direction, many times by the enemy himself. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to guide us into a deeper understanding of His work in us. Every true believer in Christ knows with all assurance that we have received a gift of the Holy Spirit to reside in us throughout the remainder of our journey here on earth. He is not just a Holy Visitor but a Permanent Resident that will never leave us or forsake us. This Third Person of the Trinity is at all times connected to, in relationship with, and at One with both the Son and the Father. What an all powerful love, to be with us, to reside in us, throughout all of life, during the best of times and the worst of times. Continue reading I’m With You Always
