Christian Soldiers It’s Time to Fight Back

Evil has gone unchecked for way too long in this country and around the world. It’s time. Christian soldiers it’s time to fight back. If we don’t all will be lost. It’s not the Muslims we should fear. It’s not North Korea or Iran. It is the evil one who is waging war against the hearts of men and women, and winning the war. Step by step he is taking the entire world captive to perform every evil intention of their mind. To strip them of all morality and the sense of right and wrong. To lead them into every manner of perversion and wickedness. To give them the illusion that they can help themselves with the latest counseling of humanistic psychiatry and their taking of prescription drugs. Stand up Christian soldiers it’s time to fight back. Continue reading Christian Soldiers It’s Time to Fight Back

The Immortal Message of Easter

On Easter morn, we are drawn back to the message of the Cross that all-encompassing will of God. We are catapulted beyond the simple historical message of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection to the infinite heights of God’s will for our life in Christ Jesus. If we only see the historical event steeped in tradition then we have missed the message. In the Apostle Paul’s farewell message to the Ephesian elders he declared, “For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God” (Acts 20:27). And the starting place in this wonderful journey in understanding the whole will of God is by following the admonition of Christ to pick up our cross and follow Him. The Bible says, “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9:23). To pick up the cross means death. It simply cannot mean anything else. It is a conscious decision to follow Christ in His death by dying to self. As we enter the dark night of our soul we discover that everything of the old sin nature must die. Every vestige of pride must be nailed to the cross. Every glimmer of self-will must die with Christ. Through faith in Christ our death to self becomes a reality. Step by step we are able to put off the old life. Continue reading The Immortal Message of Easter

Tribulation Coming – Are You Prepared?

Has anyone noticed that we live in a hopeless generation? As the Doomsday clock clicked two minuets closer to Midnight most wonder if they will survive the coming distress. As the world ponders an increase in global disasters, a nuclear holocaust, worldwide persecution of Christians, or a pandemic the civilization is left with little hope. Anxiety has reached an all time high. Many are hoping that they will escape the clutches of fanatical terrorist or the terror of evil gangsters roaming our inner-cities. Gun sales have skyrocketed. Many are hoping for financial independence to pay more than the monthly minimum payment, freedom from dependence on the State and its welfare rolls, and the ability to feed and clothe their family. Yet, total dependence upon the State to provide assistance is on the increase. Many others hope for a good marriage that will last, while co-habitation has become the standard. Others hope that they can escape their bondage to the multitude of emotional and psychological problems, yet every day more enter into bondage to worldly counseling and psychotropic drug addiction. The tragedy is that most will not hope beyond what they can see or touch. We live in a hopeless generation!

Matthew 24

Matthew 24Throughout every church age since the time of Christ Matthew 24 has been ruthlessly dissected and variously translated in an attempt to make it align with one’s own eschatological viewpoint. Often times the main overarching themes of the sacred text have been completely ignored. Today I would like to walk you through what I see as the most important overarching themes, in essence what the text really teaches to help us stand firm until the end. We are immediately confronted with the many signs that would accompany the last days and should always give the reader pause that he is actually living in the last days. For example, we have always seen wars and rumors of wars since the first century and will continue to do so until the end, which are tracked so meticulously by the evening news (See Matthew 24:6). We have also seen nations and kingdoms rise up against one another in battle; we have also seen famines and earthquakes around the world with an ever increasing severity measured and reported instantly via the internet and Smartphones (See Matthew 24:7). For two thousand years we have seen the saints of God viciously attacked and persecuted to death in every conceivable way (See Matthew 24:9-10). As wickedness and hatred increase marching across the world stage, we have also seen the gospel of Jesus Christ preached in every nation bringing millions into the everlasting Kingdom of God (See Matthew 24:12-14). Through all this the constant refrain is that these will be terrible days full of dread and “distress unequaled from the beginning the world until now – and never be equaled again” (See Matthew 24:15-22). A Tribute to Christian Soldiers

A Tribute to Christian SoldiersAs we approach Memorial Day indeed it is a time to honor our fallen soldiers in the many wars since the birth of this country, to help maintain peace at home. Well today, I would like to honor the Christian soldiers who have fought long and hard against the real enemy of our souls. They don’t carry machine guns or drive tanks, but they don the armor from heaven to stand firm against the wiles of the devil. They don’t seek glory of this world, but wage a secret war against the strongest adversary known to humanity. As the enemy roars like a lion he seeks to tear the Christian soldier apart by casting his flaming arrows of doubt, confusion, anxiety, depression, fear, and temptation to sin along with a multitude of other emotional and psychological problems. We salute the Christian soldier who has fought the good fight and has not buckled under the tremendous pressure from the enemy, but has stood his ground suited in the full armor of God. We pay special tribute to the Christian soldier who has not fallen prey to the many wiles of the devil, but has come off victoriously by responding to every wile with the knowledge that comes from God’s Holy Word. We salute the Christian soldier who has entered enemy territory to rescue the perishing by giving light to those who are in darkness, breaking their chains, and releasing them from captivity by proclaiming the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. We salute those who have stood toe to toe with those who would malign the Gospel by wielding the sword of the Spirit in all of its glorious truth. Continue reading A Tribute to Christian Soldiers
