Letters to a Church in Exile – Letter Two

Letter Number Two: Start Influencing the World. When we elect a president of the United States of America that has said publicly that no one religion has a corner on the truth and has shown this by his inclusion of the teachings from other world religions in his speeches then we have stopped influencing the world. Or when we allow the Dalai Lama to give the opening prayer at the U.S. Senate then we have stopped influencing the world. Or when most churches have now integrated the teachings of psychology into their biblical counseling then we have stopped influencing the world. Or when we have allowed our children to attend public schools that no longer teach creationism, stripped their walls of the Ten Commandments, and has kept our children from praying or sharing Christ publicly then we have stopped influencing the world. Tragically the world is now influencing the church. Jesus Christ summed it up by saying, ‘You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men” (Matthew 5:13) Our influence, our testimony is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men!  Why, because we have lost our saltiness.

Letters to a Church in Exile

Letter One: This will be the first in a series of letters written to a church in exile. As the great apostle John was exiled to the island of Patmos in the first centuries of Christianity it’s my belief that the true church of God has also been exiled. Not simply to an island but exiled from significantly influencing the modern world. Evil is marching triumphantly across the world stage making its disciples and forcing the Church into submission or unfettered silence. Yet in the midst of this encroaching evil and the demise of classic Christianity one still hears the relentless cry of Holy Scripture that says its gospel will spread throughout the entire world then the end will come. Therein is the problem, if silenced by the captivity of worldliness and secularism then how can the gospel continue to spread where no one can say, “opportunity of life was not given them.” There are two major points of view where one says that there will be a great revival at the end of the age and another opposing view that says it will only get worse where true Christians are decimated by the coming beast and horrified by the worldwide judgments of God that reign down on fallen humanity. Of course in America there is a popular third option that says Christians living at the end will neither concern themselves with world evangelization nor suffer the fate of end time saints. On the other hand, these letters will explore the biblical mandate of surviving the end and spreading the true gospel to the ends of the earth.

Standing Firm against Psychiatry’s Unholy Assault

Psychiatry and psychology have consistently asserted that people should be “salvaged” from the chains of religious upbringing and moral restraint. However, studies show positive moral and emotional benefits for those with religious faith. Churches and parishioners taking back control of their religions from psychiatry and psychology will accomplish the return to a morally and spiritually strong society. This week’s Watchdog Radio show guest is Rev. Daniel Blair who discusses how to stand firm against such psychiatric and psychological influences.

Providence

Just how involved is God in the affairs of men? The Deist who in large number settled the new world believed that God set everything in motion and then retired back to heaven allowing man to write his own destiny. Man was in charge
of his own future and free to operate without the involvement of God. In a very short time God was taken completely out of the equation by instituting the separation of Church and State allowing the State to chart her own path unencumbered by the Church’s authority and at liberty to make laws contrary to His divine principles. Although God in the beginning was acknowledged by giving an overt appearance that He was still in charge, there was a strong current of progressivism leading the masses away from trusting in God exclusively. In time this movement championed by the progressives would influence every new system developed by modern man from German Socialism in the late 1800’s to Russian Communism at the beginning of the next century. In every case up to the modern age it’s been billed as a victory for the people over its tyrannical leaders. The only thing that has held this country from these extremes is the wealthy capitalist fighting with their last breath to hold on to power and the support it’s received from the Christian community. After many years of leading the masses to trust in their government for schooling, heath care, welfare, and other social services I am afraid the days are numbered as we slip into socialism forcing capitalism to adhere to the new doctrine. Heaven’s Gate

Why is the Church in America dying and the rest of the world being persecuted? This one question should haunt every true Christian forcing him to his knees seeking an answer directly from our Heavenly Father. Many of the recognized church leaders in this country have been asking the same question but arriving at different results. Some say the church needs to be more open, acceptable and less judgmental to those fleeing the closet. Others have said that we need to meet the pagan where they are in music, dress, and culture norms. While others have said we simply need to speak about God more in our social contacts with no clear direction on what needs to be said. Then there are those who are attributing the demise of the Christian Church to the lack of evangelism. But that is only the first part of the question. Why are Christians being persecuted to death around the world especially in Muslim countries? Clearly to answer the second part of the question will shed light on the first.
