The first thing that comes to your mind is, “What merry-go-round?” Most can remember riding them when we were much younger. You will recall that the merry-go-round stayed in one place as it went around and around. We typically got on and off at the same location, never venturing further than where we had started. Unfortunately, we live in a day where many Christians have been riding the same merry-go-round for many years and never venturing any further than where they had begun many years before. You may have grown in memorizing many wonderful stories from the past along with your many favorite Bible stories. You may have even memorized some of your favorite Scripture texts and stories of how you believe God has used you in the past. Beyond all this, we discover that we really haven’t moved much from where we started many years ago. We are still on the merry-go-round, going around and around in the same place. We need to get off the merry-go-round and allow God to move us further down the path to see what is happening in the rest of the world; what’s happening in the real world. Let’s discover together how to get off the merry-go-round, which will bring us to a point of seeing the big picture of what’s really happening in the world and how God specifically wants to use us in His Kingdom.
Satan wants to keep you on the merry-go-round doing the same things day after day, never growing, and never progressing in the Kingdom. The greatest tool that Satan is currently using is social media keeping you busy from morning till night, every day, sharing openly with others, but never really making a lasting difference in another person’s life, or being utilized in a way that God intended. However, when we get off the merry-go-round, then we will discover how God wants to use us in His Church; to touch people in a way that you never thought possible. When we get off the merry-go-round we will immediately redeem the time from going around in circles and accomplishing nothing for so many years. The Bible says, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16). This is a most amazing verse of Scripture that teaches us how to redeem the time stolen from us by the powers of darkness. We are to walk circumspectly, not as fools. The believer’s walk is both inward and outward; their inward walk is their faith in Christ; their outward walk is their conversation among others. Conversation in this context is both verbal communication and our activity or action among others in the fallen world. To truly touch others for Christ, we must walk circumspectly.
Circumspectly is a powerful word that implies careful consideration of all possible risks and consequences before saying or doing anything. These consequences are not only for ourselves but for others who will be affected by what we say or what we do. This takes a great deal of wisdom to only say or do things to truly touch others for Christ and build them up. It’s never about us and our own desires. It’s never about painting a picture of our own successes through an array of personal memories and accomplishments continuously quoted, which is a trait among the fools and unbelievers in Christ. On the other hand, there are appropriate times to share the blessings of God, not to brag, but to encourage them that God will work all things together for good to them that love God (Romans 8:28). Appropriate times of sharing are always determined by the needs of the other person who needs God’s assurance. This is never done randomly but as God leads to fit the occasion. Unfortunately, modern society has all but rejected the Church and its purpose of ministering to others as outlined in Holy Scripture, where all the Spiritual gifts are given, so that everyone can fulfill their individual purpose in the Church. The Bible says, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal” (I Corinthians 12:7; read through to 12:31). This can only be accomplished through face-to-face relationships as we individually use our Spiritual gifts for the common good.
Unfortunately, this Spiritual fellowship for the building up of others is lost when we seek to do it to others randomly on social media. It’s nearly impossible to know their real needs and gauge our effectiveness through their limited response. When we walk circumspectly allowing God through the Holy Spirit to give us the wisdom in every encounter to say or do only what is needed, then we will witness the Spiritual fruit from those we encounter. This is a far cry from social media designed by the powers of darkness to keep us busy from morning till night accomplishing nothing for the Kingdom of God. The only thing it accomplishes is spiritual pride, wholeheartedly believing that you are accomplishing great things for the Kingdom. But I ask where is the real Spiritual fruit? Where is the Spiritual growth in Christ? Yet, when we get off the merry-go-round, we will stop following the world and seek God’s guidance in moving forward touching others in the Name of Christ. As we shall see, we will have a whole new perspective of the world and God’s prophetic answer through His Church. We will also see the unused time, now available, to be used for the glory of God, instead of chasing the ways of the world.
When we walk circumspectly, it will change our attitude by only seeking what is best for others. This is only determined by asking questions and learning how to listen, really listen. This is accomplished by emptying our minds of every thought, especially the thoughts about what we’re going to say next. To prove that you are successfully listening will lead you to comment about what you have just heard from the other person. If you immediately go to a completely different topic proves that you were not listening in the first place. When we accomplish listening to others, then God will lead us in our response along with the use of our Spiritual gift, if it is appropriate to be used at this point. What glory it is to touch others in the Name of Christ and witness them bearing Spiritual fruit. This is exactly what the Church is called to do, every day, not just when it meets for public worship service. When the Church is busy doing what it was called to do, then it will walk circumspectly in all wisdom. We are the Church, so let’s get off the merry-go-round that’s stuck in place and be the Church of God.
Finally, when we walk circumspectly in wisdom by redeeming the time, then God will give us a whole new perspective of the world and our place in it. When we get off the merry-go-round created by the powers of darkness, then we will move forward in the transformation process to be all that God has called us to be. As we become more like Christ through transformation, then we will see the world totally different. We will see it through the eyes of Christ. We will see that everything in the world is designed, by the powers of darkness, to take our eyes off the world drawing us closer and closer into our own imaginative world. This is not the real world, where people interact with others to discern their real needs. The imaginative world is designed to focus on your own prideful accomplishments, real or unreal. It is designed to give you everything you desire from excessive clothing to items to enhance your beauty, and from excessive furniture to everything that delights your imagination. The imaginative world pretends to be free from the many different people and their multitude of problems. The imaginative world pretends to be free from all the anxiety, stress, and fear in the real world, because all they see is Avatars and faceless people on Social Media and the coming Metaverse. As long as you stay on the merry-go-round the more you are taken captive to the fast-approaching imaginative world destined for the entire population. This imaginative world will also experience the full wrath of God as prophesized for the entire world. Please, dear children, get off the merry-go-round now, which is all the social media platforms and the coming Metaverse.
The Gospel Presentation
We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, which explains the many difficulties that you are currently facing in your life. Well, I have good news, God has solved that problem by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin to show us the way to a beautiful new life in Christ. God has dealt with all of our sins past, present, and future by having His son pay the debt for our sins. Jesus Christ willingly went to the Cross in our stead by allowing all of the world’s sins to be placed upon Him as a sacrificial Lamb. As Christ hung on the Cross, the wrath of God was poured out on Him to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus Christ died on the Cross and was buried for three days. On the third day, Christ arose from death to life everlasting. The good news is if we believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, then we will be forgiven for all of our sins and receive the Holy Spirit. The Spirit will lead us into all truth helping us in the transformation process of putting off the old life, allowing the old sin nature to die with Christ, and then putting on our new life in Christ by being raised with Christ to everlasting life. You can accept Christ today by confessing your sins to Him through a simple prayer asking Him to forgive you and make you into a new creation filled with the Holy Spirit. If you have done that, then you have just begun the greatest journey of your life that leads to heaven and eternal life. Welcome to the Kingdom.
