My heart is grieved over how many people are hurting. I know that God’s heart must also be breaking when he hears the cries of His children. Although at first glance, one can easily blame many things for their struggles and anguish, such as a weak economy, lack of work, or circumstances beyond their control. However, once we take a closer look we soon discover that many of the problems they face are caused by other things not easily recognized or admitted. Before we unearth these causes, it’s necessary to realize that as God’s children His chief concern is the end result. That is, His chief desire beyond anything you experience in this life is to make you into a new creation where the barnacles of the old sin nature fall off and that one day you would stand before Him in heaven as a righteous person in Christ.
Two thousand years have come and gone since that first great light appeared in the midst of prevailing darkness lying in a manger. What a horrible foreboding darkness that covered the entire world upon His arrival to shed light to fallen humanity. Since the dawn of creation humanity has rejected the light and made for themselves idols of stone and wood. They chased after every perversion, slaughtered millions through the art of war or enslaving them to a life of toil and rigor. Continue reading A Light in the Prevailing Darkness
What would it look like, a world without Christ? For the transformed believer in Christ it may seem too horrible to imagine. Yet, in the midst of the encroaching darkness we must not only imagine such a scenario we must contemplate its coming reality. In a dark world without Christ it would be totally left alone. Without Christ all religious instruction from previous ages and the sacred writings of the New Testament would be meaningless. Very few would understand the depth of its teachings or how to live by its standards. Essentially, the world is left alone in its fight against gross immorality, wars, domestic abuse, and emotional problems plaguing the planet. Many in the world would still hang on to their old superstitions, gods and goddess, while the so called enlightened ones would develop their own strategies and humanistic beliefs to deal with the worlds problems. Counseling centers and drug stores would more than dot the landscape in a worldwide quest to reign in fallen humanity. The world would be no better off as horrific crimes would increase in number and magnitude. Real lasting peace among the nations would slip away to continued regional and global conflicts with ever increasing terrorism destroying life and property. Yet, those of the Star Trek generation still hold onto their hope of a humanistic world of peace and tranquility without Christ. Continue reading A World Without Christ
Is the RFID chip that may be required in Obama’s Health Care plan really the dreaded mark of the beast? Before we answer that question we need to have a clear understanding of the mark and what the number 666 means. This number becomes perfectly clear when we consider that the number six is the number for man. Man was created on the sixth day and he is only allowed to work six days a week. It’s also one number less than the number seven, which is the number for spiritual perfection. “This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666” (Rev. 13:18). Continue reading Mark of the Beast
As our country prepares to celebrate our Independence Day unfortunately many in the world don’t feel much like celebrating. A dark shadow has been cast over the world from an increase in rampant lawlessness to the destabilization of other nations. The stress level of the world’s population is off the scale due to fear of catastrophic natural disasters, impending pandemics, the possibility of world war, or a bloody persecution of Christians. The world is faced with a multitude of problems. In our struggle to walk as children of light in a dark world we have all lost many battles to the old nature and the enemy. Many Christians who are burdened with life’s problems find little accurate and authoritative counsel from others. For many they find little comfort or direction from the Bible which has resulted in a life of bondage to emotional and psychological problems forcing them to the world’s counselors to find a cure. Often times in desperation they have readily accepted the remedy of psychotropic (mind altering) drugs leading to life of addiction, other dependence, and spiritual depression. By God’s grace I want to spare you of that. Continue reading Finding Answers to Life’s Problems
