To see the political divide in this country largely perpetrated by the media is nauseating. Even the most righteous believers in Christ are indignant toward the negative, opinionated, and hateful rhetoric thrown at the President of the United States of America. Every word and action is over analyzed and fraught with contempt by the liberal media. As the divide widens and whole segments of the population are ripped apart and pitted one against another, the true believers in Christ must not be carried away by their lies and deception. We must remain aloof, but at the same time interject God’s truth into the matrix of society. What is truth? A question that has echoed down the annals of History. A truth that every believer must possess.

So, the only way to stay untainted from the political divide is to possess the truth to such a degree that we arise above the political hatred, to address the real needs of humanity and his society. To open their eyes and help them to look beyond their grievous divisions to a hope of unity for all people. A magnificent hope that can only be found in Christ Jesus the Author of our faith. A hope so grandiose that it envisions a humanity and his society where its Christian faith is so strong that it demonstrates an agape love to all, which binds it together in perfect harmony. You might be thinking that all sounds good theoretically, but you know we are living in the End Times and many of our churches are lukewarm. And I would say, although things are bad and will no doubt get worse before the glorious return of Christ, I am convinced that we must all still work for the hope that He has instilled in each of His followers. As we shall see a hope that will not disappoint us. Praise God.

Although I believe we live in the midst of the Tribulation, it must not give us an excuse to hide in the catacombs or to sit comfortably in the lukewarm church. Nor does it give us an excuse to join in the political fight that has divided this country and perhaps in time the whole world. On the other hand, our calling is much greater. We must come out from among them so that we can truly help them. Interestingly enough God’s methods have not changed since the beginning, quite simply because He has not changed. It’s still the same. To bring forth a holy and righteous people in the midst of a fallen world, giving them the commission to lead all of humanity to the truth. To be a true light in a very dark world. So, no matter if we are talking to a liberal or conservative we still must let the light of God’s truth shine forth brightly into their hearts. We must not take sides for the moment we do it will dilute the light to a dim flicker of the lukewarm church.

Therefore, to let our light shine we must truly be of the light of His truth walking in holiness and righteousness. When we are, then honestly, we will see some truth and error in both conservative and liberal positions, but in God’s way we see only truth. It’s this truth that must be taught among God’s beloved children. A truth that will lead them to submit to the governing authorities, but not to follow their ways or even their laws if they disagree with God’s law. So, this should always be our guide in every discussion that we have with the unbelievers or the believers who follow one political persuasion over another. It must always come back to what does God say. We must not remove God from society as the lukewarm church and the unbelievers have done. Quite frankly, then if God is truly in us then He is a part of our society. To remove Him for the sake of society is contradictory to our faith. Or to let Him stay, but make His children subject to its immorality, is an anathema. Our only recourse is to come out from among them so that we are no longer tainted by the political divide. To make our Christian societies strong demonstrating true agape love for all among our ranks to be a true light to the society of fallen man. I pray that we stay untainted from the political divide. Amen
