What is Truth?

There are many voices coming at you. Everyone is an expert. There is talk radio, cable news, Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, liberals. Who is telling the truth? We are pulled in many different directions. Maybe it’s because we are listening to the world and not listening exclusively to God. Have you ever noticed that the world typically gives you two choices and then allows you to make a choice? They claim to have given you enough information from both positions to lead you to make the right choice – a choice that you assume is the truth. However, what if it were neither one of the choices? What if it were something completely different? Continue reading What is Truth?

Lawlessness Leads to Anarchy

This country has been on a downward spiral of lawlessness for some time now. We can all remember the school yard shootings where children killed other children, where college students went on a rampage against their own classmates, where a sniper randomly kills innocent bystanders, where a disgruntled ex-employee reenters the job site to wound and kill fellow employees, and then most recently a husband and father sets his own house on fire and crashes a small plane into an office building (less than 10 miles from my house). What in the world is happening? Continue reading Lawlessness Leads to Anarchy

Why is Haiti Suffering?

Before we ask that question, why Haiti is suffering, our hearts first cry out for all the pain and anguish of the Haitian people. As believers in Christ compassion would lead us to do everything we can to relieve their untold suffering. It might be giving to our local church to fund a relief effort. It might be going our self or sending others to help in the relief effort. But as true Christians we would also be led through the Holy Spirit to help them understand what is happening in the world and help them make an appropriate response to the mercy of God. Old Party, New Movement or Revival

I believe most Christians are fed up with the two party system. Both Republicans and Democrats have promised the typical things that politicians have always promised. When they are up for election they promise health care and assistance for the widow, the orphan, and the impoverished, protection for the consumer, the factory worker and businesses who fear outsourcing, better education for our children, and higher wages for teachers, and lower taxes. Yet during their term business is back to usual passing bills, creating new legislation, squabbling with one another, always blaming the other party and rarely read the new legislation that promises to increase slavery for the masses. Response to Mr. Netanyahu’s Foreign Policy Speech

After reading the full text of Netanyahu’s foreign policy speech I was greatly encouraged that a true foundation has been laid for a cessation of hostility and the possibility of peace if all parties concerned follow the conditions set forth. As a Christian who has prayed for years that the state of Israel would have a lasting peace, I ask myself why Christians from around the world are not united in an effort to help Israel achieve a lasting peace in their own homeland. Therefore, I personally call on all Christians in every land (including Palestine) to pray first to our Messiah, Jesus Christ, and also to put pressure on their respective leaders through peaceful demonstrations to support Israel in the peace plan outlined by Mr. Netanyahu.
