Woe, woe, woe is a constant refrain that we hear in the last book of the Bible. When we read it, we think of God saying, “this is it!” Or saying, “this is the last straw for you have just passed over the proverbial red line.” This happened once before in biblical history when God raised His prophets of old to speak to the nation of Israel. God had warned His children for years that they had not kept His commandments, that they had followed after the disgusting immorality of their age. They had so integrated the world around them into their religious traditions and civic life, that they could no longer see their unrighteousness as filthy rags. Clearly, their sin had blinded them to their true condition before a Holy God. The Bible says, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter” (Isaiah 5:20)! They had become so blind that they convinced themselves that they were correct in their beliefs. They were so convinced that their bad behavior was good, even in the eyes of God, that they would come out from among those who thought otherwise and fight against them with harsh words. They were not far from stoning the prophets.
Ancient Israel is not much unlike the Western World and especially the United States. When we condone legalized abortion, homosexuality, the transgender, and every other perverted lifestyle then we are not unlike Ancient Israel that called bad, good. When we condone the psychobabble being taught in our churches and schools along with the free flow of psychiatric drugs that’s causing untold problems or the legalization of marijuana then we are not unlike Ancient Israel that called darkness, light. When we condone the teaching of other world religions, humanistic philosophies, myths, and demonic incantations in the public square then we are not unlike Ancient Israel that called bitter, sweet. Moreover, this unholy exchange has required Christians to undergo psychological testing for employment, psychological counseling if they trespass one of their civil laws, and even required to take certain psychological drugs if deemed necessary by the doctors and enforced by the judges. This unholy exchange has emptied our churches and created a whole new atheistic subculture of people trusting in the works of their own hands and denying the existence of God. This unholy exchange has opened Pandora’s box filled with every familiar spirit of the New Age seduction. We are not too unlike Ancient Israel.
So, what did God do with the nation of Israel? He sent them into captivity. He allowed the kings from the East, namely Babylon, along the Euphrates River in present-day Iraq, to tear down their walls, overcome their strong military, and carry off their survivors into a long and harsh captivity. This was the outcome of the woe spoken by the prophets and specifically the prophet Isaiah. Throughout biblical history, God has used other pagan nations to chastise His people for their unholy exchange. If we look at the second woe in the book of Revelation, this has not changed. God can and does use other nations to chastise His people when they stray from Him or cross the proverbial red line. Read carefully the book of Revelation concerning the second woe (See Revelation 9:12-21, and my book “Final Warning,” that goes into greater detail). Yes, I believe there is that proverbial red line and we as a nation, the United States of America, have passed it. What’s left is the woe, the righteous judgment of God to turn His people back to the light and out of the darkness. I don’t believe that I am alone to see the “handwriting on the wall.” Thanks to our interference in the Middle East for many years, we may now have most countries in the area hating us worse than they hate one another.
We may have cleaned out ISIS, the radical element of Islam but we have left intact a coalition of nations now strategizing how to expel all foreign troops from their lands. How far this collaboration will go in uniting against what they see as the “great Satan” (the United States of America) is not yet known. We do know, however, that Iran has projected a tremendous influence on many of the countries and groups of people in the region spreading their undying hatred for the West and specifically the United States. We should not underestimate the hatred they have for America that’s gone on for more than forty years, whom they see as both imperialistic and greedy. Make no mistake, thousands upon thousands have already been killed by the Muslim hordes from the East since its conception. If this hatred reaches further into our homeland as did the attacks of 911, then I pray that we as a nation will repent of our gross immorality and turn back to God before we experience the full extent of the third woe, which will be the unveiling of the Antichrist with all of his power to subject everyone to him. This subjection will begin with increased surveillance to seek out the terrorist amongst us. It seems like the handwriting is already on the proverbial wall. It’s just a matter of time if this country does not sincerely repent from their many years of unrighteousness.
Dear Christian, we cannot put our trust in our leader to protect us from God’s woe! Nor can we put our trust in the previous administration that attempted to buy them off. We may happily enjoy all that our current leader is doing to protect us, from building walls to increasing the military, even a space force, to new weapons, and his powerful rhetoric spoken against our enemies. We can rally around him by supporting him with our gifts and time, but nothing will stop the hand of God to render His righteous judgment upon a lawless nation. In comparison to the United States and our allies, Iran and its axis of evil seem small and insignificant. However, we as a nation would not be prepared to witness the daily terrorist attacks on our homeland. They may claim that it will only be military installations, but that could change very quickly. Nothing will stay the hand of God but true unconditional repentance. We must cleanse our churches of psychology and only teach God’s truth. We must outlaw abortion and help mothers to raise their children. We must outlaw all forms of greed and stop robbing the poor. We must outlaw homosexuality and all other forms of sexual perversion and teach godly counsel in building God-honoring relationships. We must outlaw all movies, music, and books that teach and condone lawlessness. We must turn back to the only true God while there is still time. His woe is coming quickly, lest we repent!
As we have seen, God can and does use other nations, especially pagan nations, to judge His people. It has historical and biblical precedents. Although the Middle East is primarily Muslim, which we would consider pagan, there are thousands upon thousands of Christians, our brothers and sisters, spread throughout the region. Although we need to repent and stand firm against any traditions or laws that would weaken our faith or trust in God alone, we must also pray for our brothers and sisters in every country, including the Middle East, to stand firm against their, often pagan or tyrannical, leadership by also maintaining their faith in God alone. If we as believers in Christ truly repent, we will not only be setting an example for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East and around the world, we may also stay the hand of God. If we don’t repent, then His woe is coming quickly upon this nation! God help us!

I don’t think changing laws will do anything. We have a heart problem. Hearts need to change. You can not force evil to become good.
You are absolutely correct Jeffery. However, we are calling a nation to repentance. If their hearts were right then immoral laws would not have been passed in the first place. Thank you for your comment.
I just pray to the Lord that everyone would read these articles. Anyone who does not return to God quickly is doomed to spend eternity in the fires of hell. I read where a church has decided to split over some wanting to ignore the 1st Chapter of Romans and the 6th Chapter of 1st Corinthians. Churches that change to suit society are the blind leading the blind and everyone will fall into the ditch. The end is in sight and the wake up calls are being ignored by so many. God Bless you for all you do in getting God’s words out and God will bless the people who read and heed.
Thank you, brother, for your inspiring words of encouragement and your blessing. God bless you too Ed.
