Why is the Church in America dying and the rest of the world being persecuted? This one question should haunt every true Christian forcing him to his knees seeking an answer directly from our Heavenly Father. Many of the recognized church leaders in this country have been asking the same question but arriving at different results. Some say the church needs to be more open, acceptable and less judgmental to those fleeing the closet. Others have said that we need to meet the pagan where they are in music, dress, and culture norms. While others have said we simply need to speak about God more in our social contacts with no clear direction on what needs to be said. Then there are those who are attributing the demise of the Christian Church to the lack of evangelism. But that is only the first part of the question. Why are Christians being persecuted to death around the world especially in Muslim countries? Clearly to answer the second part of the question will shed light on the first.

Why does the Koran teach their followers to kill the infidel or allow them to become slaves with no rights and a heavy tax? Why does the radical Muslim hate the Jew and seek to silence and convert millions of Christians through persecution and death? To answer that question we must first ask another. Why did the Catholic Church persecute to death thousands of Christians who refused to follow their accepted doctrines of the church? Why did Communism persecute to death millions of Christians because they did not renounce their faith in Christ and follow atheism? Why did Hitler kill millions of Jews? Why did he imprison and kill thousands of Christians who refused to accept his false doctrine and its integration into the German Church?  Many other examples from history could be given to demonstrate that Satan has risen up other religions, countless leaders, and even whole nations to destroy the faith of Christians. In every age and in every country Christians have had their faith attacked either openly through persecution and death or through the secret integration of false doctrine. Either way openly or clandestinely Satan is destroying the faith of millions keeping them from entering Heaven’s Gate. The Bible says, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only few find it” (Matthew 7:13, 14).

So if we can accept the fact that Satan is behind the persecutions that are happening daily around the world, then we need also to accept the fact that he is behind the secret attacks against the Christian faith in this country and others. This alone should shed light on why the church is dying in this country. I am afraid that evangelism alone will not solve the problem of the steady decline in the American church, nor will the acceptance of gays or other socially popular norms.  In the midst of the rebellion there is only one solution to the problem. We must safe guard our faith at all cost. To do so will not only ensure our entrance through Heaven’s Gate but put us on the narrow path to life. Let me be clear at this juncture, Satan does not want you to experience life.  His whole goal is to keep you dead in your sins and a slave to another world religion or a world system that also denies the new life in Christ. This new life in-Christ is only available through Christ and is the cornerstone of our faith. Simply put, to deny this new life in Christ puts you on the broad road that leads to destruction. Therefore, true evangelism must contain the entire gospel that points the new believer to obtaining this new life which would immediately set him at odds with the world system and other world religions controlled by Satan. Once this world system is exposed by more than one person crying in the wilderness then open persecution will arrive in this country.

As the new believer takes his first step through the narrow gate he is led to believe that Christ really makes us into a new creation where old things pass away, and behold all things are new (See II Corinthians 5:17). As he proceeds along this path then he knows that God is giving him everything he needs for life and godliness and no longer has a need for the resources of the satanic world system (See II Peter 1:3-4). As he matures in the faith trusting in Christ every step of the way he begins to experience this bountiful life full of joy and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. In time he too becomes a soldier for Christ standing against all the wiles of the devil putting on the full armor of God and standing firm in His strength. Dear children, Satan is afoot destroying the church of America by leading them to deny this new life in Christ and accept godless counseling and psychotropic drugs from the world system. Won’t you stand firm in your faith today? To do so my friend will be the greatest joy even in the midst of violent persecution. Let me encourage you to stop everything, bow your head, and pray for your brothers and sisters around the world who are being persecuted – and then pray for yourself that you will return to the faith of our forefathers who lived the new life in-Christ and at the end victoriously entered Heaven’s Gate. This my friend is the only way to revitalize the churches of America.
