We are now clearly in the time of the falling away, especially in the West (II Thessalonians 2:3). I believe that many have simply given up on God. Perhaps they have forgotten or haven’t ever known that God loves them deeply. Perhaps with the discovery of the size and depth of space with its infinite distance, mankind feels that they are too small in the sight of God, or they feel insignificant. They ask candidly, “Does God believe in me?” With all the horrific pain in the world, many ask does God really care. They ask, “How can a loving God allow this tragic circumstance, happen to me?” Every day it gets tougher for humanity. Every day many wonder if they can make it another day as the world grows increasingly more dangerous from unchecked lawlessness to the threat of a nuclear war. Every day many experience the trauma of emotional and psychological problems. Every day many feel the brunt of the many different natural disasters destroying their homes, their livelihoods, and even their loved ones. Let’s be quite clear Satan, our old arch-enemy, wants us to give up on God. His one aim is to destroy your relationship with God.
We have seen very clearly that the world’s answer to emotional and psychological problems also leads people to give up on God. When people are told that it’s impossible to break away from their past, then they are led to give up on God who has the ability to make all things new. When people are told that they must continue with psychological counseling and psychotropic drugs for the foreseeable future or the remainder of their lives, then they are led to give up on God. As we shall see, God has wonderful counsel from His anointed Word that will deliver you quickly from every known emotional and psychological problem. Furthermore, when we are faced with a physical problem that the world cannot solve or even identify, then it becomes easy for most to give up on God. Instead of turning exclusively to an all-powerful God, most will settle immediately for a lifetime of prescription drugs without giving God a chance. Most are unwilling to struggle with the slightest pain that could carry them to the foot of the Cross for God’s miraculous healing. Most in our modern world have already given up on God as they turn almost exclusively to humanity to solve all of their problems.
Please don’t give up on God, for I will show you a miracle of miracles that will change your life forever. You will never see things the same way again. Faith opens the door to amazing possibilities. Before we get started, let me be very clear, I can only show you how to open the door. The faith must be yours. Moreover, I am not telling anyone to stop their medication or worldly counseling. This is a decision that every called believer in Christ must make based on their own personal faith. If I tell you the truth that Peter stepped out on faith and walked on water with Jesus, then I can say with all assurance that faith alone can open a door to the miraculous. Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. To possess the faith that I am speaking of can only come from God through the indwelling Holy Spirit. To attempt faith without the Holy Spirit given to us through our salvation in Christ is meaningless and very dangerous. To do so, invites the powers of darkness, working through many different disciplines such as Witchcraft, Occultism, and the New Age, to control your life, which can also seal your eternal destiny in hell.
The starting place in opening the door of faith always starts with the call (Romans 8:28). Yes, the souls of fallen humanity will hear the call, most often, through a clear presentation of the Gospel, which has power unto salvation (Romans 1:16). They sincerely feel that God has spoken to their heart inviting them into His Kingdom. I say most often because on occasion God has called certain ones directly to fulfill His mission on the earth. The power of the Gospel leads to faith believing the message that God’s Holy Spirit will indwell the believer. They believe the message that His job is to make us into a new creation where old things truly pass away and give us marvelous gifts to use for the furtherance of the kingdom here on earth. We also accept the truth that we have been forgiven of all previous transgressions. If we don’t get beyond these fundamental beliefs, then we will never witness the power of God to re-make us into the kind of people we are called to be. On the other hand, those who firmly believe in the truth, then they will recognize the power of God to transform their lives. They will recognize the great power that comes from trusting in God’s loving providence. They will learn how to accept each circumstance, even if it’s most difficult, by believing that God has not abandoned them but is still with them giving them needed direction and encouragement to see it through with peace in their hearts.
As believers in Christ, we must think about what lies ahead if humanity still refuses to repent of its many transgressions against God’s Holy Law. There will come a time when it will be nearly impossible to secure your prescription medications. This will have a tremendous effect upon fallen humanity who has become dependent on the medication and in most cases addicted to them. Although pain and suffering will be nearly unbearable, it is the psychological trauma acted out in unchecked lawlessness that will have the greatest effect on society. If we add to this the scarcity of counselors to calm the masses, then insanity and suicide will dramatize their total dependence on the drugs. I would like to encourage everyone, both unbelievers and Christians, to work with their doctors to come off all of their medications as quickly as possible. I sincerely understand that in certain cases this will be impossible but for most, it will be possible. It will be possible because most all medications only treat the symptoms and not the cause. It’s common knowledge among most doctors that most problems will simply go away on their own with most medications designed only to treat the symptoms. For those medications that can really treat the cause, then we would need to pray for God’s grace until medications can be found. We will need to remind ourselves, “…that all things work together for good to them that Love God, to them who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
The true believers in Christ, have learned how to depend on God for their entire body, mind, and spirit. They have the assurance that God, our Heavenly Father, has us in the palm of His hands. Many of these dear saints have already witnessed the healing power of God. They have already witnessed miracles upon miracles in their lives as God truly works all things together for good for those who love Him. So, whenever they face an emotional or psychological problem they immediately turn to His Word for comfort, encouragement, and necessary direction to cause their problems to flee. They have learned the miracle of deep prayer and meditation that brings us into submission to the Lord through the indwelling Spirit that always leads to tremendous joy and a peace that defies understanding. They have learned to keep their mind stayed upon the risen Lord as they face the many and sudden pains of our physical bodies. They have learned both the great power of miraculous healing and the power to graciously accept whatever pain we must endure. They have learned that those enduring pains can help us make great strides in our spiritual growth or simply learn a needed lesson. Either way, we have learned to trust completely in God’s loving providence. We have not given up on God. He is the source of all our strength.
