Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 8/3/2021

Subject: “Praying to hear, not to be heard”

Good morning Heavenly Father. As we approach your throne this morning in the Spirit, we are confident that you are listening to the cords of our hearts. We may not be able to express in discernible words what we want to say but we know that you have just listened to our hearts. We know it’s the coming that’s important even if we think that we have nothing to say. Even if we speak something out of order or not with polished rhetoric, it makes little difference to you our loving Father in Heaven. What’s important is that we come as we are and humble ourselves before you, staying there, in the Spirit, as long as necessary until we hear your still small voice through the indwelling Spirit. Oh Lord, when we pray, we always pray not necessarily to be heard but to hear what you want to say to us giving us direction in our lives. We always long to hear your voice and not ours. It’s your voice that cuts through all the confusion in the world and brings us again to your Word in the Bible. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner” (Luke 18:13; read 10-14).

Subject: “We are sons and daughters”

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh, what a privilege it is to be called sons and daughters of the God of all creation. Indeed, it is a privilege to hear a voice from heaven through the indwelling Spirit. We have discovered that if we are in the world, it’s difficult to hear anything from you. In fact, heaven appears to be quite silent when our minds are filled with the evil and controlling things of this world. On the other hand, we have learned to accept the beauty of godly music, the wonders of your creation, and even silence that directs our thoughts back to you. We especially enjoy allowing you to direct our every movement to experience the miracle of your blessed providence. We pray for your wayward children who have been captured by the world, who allow the enemy to direct their every thought and action. We pray that you will set them free and allow them to experience the joy of their salvation. Yes, please help them to come out from among them so that they too can rejoice in being called sons and daughters. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty” (II Corinthians 6:17-18).

 Subject: “Stand Firm Faithful Remnant”

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, the days are darker and darker as we always long for the light of your glory to shine forth in the hearts of men. We pray, Oh Lord, that you will raise up the faithful remnant in our day to go before you to prepare for your great return, to reward your servants, and to bring forth your righteous judgment upon those who spurn your commandments and deny the testimony of Jesus. Although we have been gloriously saved by grace, we know that you still require us to obey all your beautiful commandments by writing them on our hearts. This is a true mark of the faithful remnant. We pray that you will cause your remnant everywhere to put your blessed testimony upon their lips always ready to share and defend. Let us defend it to death, if necessary, to demonstrate to the fallen world that you have truly given us everything we need in Scripture to become new people in Christ. Let us proclaim loudly, that we have no need for the world’s psychobabble or their humanistic teachings to help us in our transformation. Help us to stand firm against the dragon who is already taking many captives to do his will, to both kill and destroy. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 12:17).

 Subject: “Time Management”

Good morning Heavenly Father. As we approach the throne of grace this morning, we turn our thoughts towards our own management of time that you have so graciously given to us. After more than three years of public prayers and weekly articles or videos posted to our website, we question their effectiveness in a world that has gone increasingly mad, probably in large part, because of your latest plague. The world seems like it’s more interested in uncovering the latest conspiracy theory rather than learning how to grow spiritually or how to continue on the path of transformation. They seem like they are more interested in striking back at a world that they no longer understand, which has severely damaged their management of time where the days and hours appear to grow shorter. We pray, Oh Lord, for your divine guidance on how to move forward with our ministry. What can we do to be more effective in a time such as this when everyone is online being led in one direction then another robbing them of their precious time, time that can never be recovered? We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, please read entire context 1-8).

Subject: “Pray for one another”

Good morning Heavenly Father. We feel led to continue praying for all your beloved children. We know this is a rough time for them, not knowing when these plagues will end or when the lawlessness will subside. Their minds are inundated with conspiracy theories that are just causing them greater confusion. We know many of them are suffering loneliness because of this virus, unable to see their children or grandchildren. We know this also must be difficult to be separated from their close friends or brothers and sisters in the Lord. We have observed that many are fighting anxiety, depression, and even malicious attacks from the enemy. Fear has also gripped many of them, although they have done a great job of hiding it. Oh Lord, we humbly ask that you reach out to your children and let them feel your love and presence as you have so graciously shown us. Let them know that you will not leave them or forsake them no matter how difficult it becomes. Please, Lord, embrace your children today filling them with the Holy Spirit as you forgive them for their many trespasses. We humbly pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16).

 Subject: “Choosing the good part”

Good morning Heavenly Father. As we come this morning to set at our Master’s feet, let us do it with an open mind ready to receive all that you want to give us. In prayer, we don’t always come to speak but to listen to your beautiful truth. So, we pray, Oh Lord, that you will help us, for the mind loves to wander from one topic to another even while you are attempting to speak to us through the indwelling Spirit. The mind loves to think about all the other things that need to be done, as the clock ticks more loudly in the background. We also think intently about all the tragedies and natural disasters taking place in the world dragging us down into the pit of deep sadness and anxiety. Help us to focus only on the task at hand of intently listening to your still small voice from within that gives us our daily bread, that’s so useful for the soul. Thank you, Lord, for continuing to guide us every moment of every day through the indwelling Spirit. We have truly chosen the good part. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42; read also 38-40).

Subject: “Being led into all truth”

Good morning Heavenly Father. Father God, we weep for those who have been taken captive to spiritual pride. Instead of coming to the light, they have allowed themselves to believe that they can discover all the truth on their own with no help. Sadly, we have observed how their spiritual pride has allowed them to slip into darkness and further away from the light. We thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, that you have known from the beginning how words and their meanings would change over time even in one’s own language. As words and meanings changed, so did translations from the original scrolls that recorded your beautiful words. We thank you, Lord, that you have given your children the Holy Spirit to understand the whole truth contrary to the translation they use. Although pride and the rejection of all modern translations have blinded many in our day, we are thankful that the indwelling Spirit is faithful to lead your humble children to the truth and the light of your precious Word. We trust the indwelling Spirit to always lead us into all truth. Praise God! We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come” (John 16:13).
