Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 8/16/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh, Lord, why must we have dry moments, when you seem distant, and we are completely void of that deep abiding fellowship that we live for every day? We know that sin can immediately severe that relationship, yet that’s not always the cause of our dryness in the Spirit. So, we fall-down humbly before you, our righteous God in Heaven seeking the answer to our question. What causes our Spiritual dryness? As we ponder this you are speaking, telling us that to fully appreciate the bright light of your glory, we must revisit the darkness of fallen humanity and the horrible separation from you. So, we wait. And will continue to wait, no matter how long it takes. We will join our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the garden, in the darkest night of humanity as He awaited the Cross and His momentary separation from His Father in Heaven when He cried out, “Why hast thou forsaken me?” Yet, it wasn’t long before He experienced once again the glories of Heaven. In the same way, our indwelling Spirit will come in like a flood. Hallelujah! We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that for every step we take closer to you, you take one step closer to us. We have discovered that the more we give up, the things of this world, the more you give to us from your eternal Kingdom, allowing us to have a foretaste of things to come. We know that not everyone will follow, some out of fear, others out of weak or a lack of faith, and others because they simply don’t want to give up what the evil world offers. Whatever the reason, we pray that we will continue to reach out to them in love showing them a better way to experience all that life can offer through a total commitment to You. A wonderful life that reaches way beyond our physical existence to the Spiritual; to a bountiful life that always begins at the foot of the Cross, death to self, and all the trappings of this fallen world. Once discovered it’s worth everything we have and much more. We pray that all will believe this truth and leave everything for You. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Father forgive us if we fail to walk in righteousness, at all times. We live in a world with a lot of grey areas that can make things rather confusing for your beloved children. Also, we live in a world that sin has been legalized and illegal aliens have been called legal. It can be very confusing for a young believer or even an older believer who sincerely desires to do things that are righteous in your eyes. It also appears the longer a person walks on a path of unrighteousness the easier it becomes to justify their bad behavior, not necessarily in the eyes of the world but in your Holy and Righteous eyes, that will one day hold us accountable for everything we have done in these bodies. We pray that you will give all your beloved children courage and determination to walk in the path of righteousness even if they must walk alone. We have learned from experience, even if we think we are walking alone on this path of righteousness, we are not alone, because we have you walking with us. We pray this the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 8/13/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for your Spirit that leads us in prayer, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. We ask that you lead us again today as we ponder how much the world is leading the world around by the nose. Their influence upon fallen humanity is phenomenal. Through social media, the news media, and even through preachers and teachers the world is led around every moment of every day on what to think, how to think, and even more dangerously how to act. We pray that we as your beloved children would no longer be influenced by the world but allow you alone to influence our thinking and actions through the indwelling Spirit. Teach your children how to listen to the indwelling Spirit, by quietly listening to the voice from within, a voice that’s always validated by your Word in the Bible. Only then can we really walk as we should, becoming obedient to your will and not ours. Only then can we call ourselves the sons of God. Only then can our spirit cry out, Abba, Father. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Although there are many things in the world that can agitate our souls, from reckless drivers, to mean spirited people, to the pain and suffering caused by our frail bodies, and to our inability to function at peak performance, we rejoice in your peace that calms the soul. We thank you for giving us your peace, Oh Lord, that can hold back the raging flood of emotions allowing us to see a better way, to experience a great calmness, as we allow your peace to rule in our hearts. We pray that all your beloved children would remember to be thankful in all things, which can also calm the great torrent of emotions that drives them in one direction then in another, causing them to ultimately lose control. Help your beloved children to remember that we are all in the same body and no one in their right mind would purposely inflict pain or injury to their own body. We pray that they will allow peace to rule in their hearts approving and disapproving of every thought, every word, and every action. We humbly pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful” (Colossians 3:15).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 8/11/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. The tears are flowing down our cheeks when we think of what you have done for us. We were no more than vagabonds and orphans in this world. Although we had earthly fathers and mothers, we had not realized how far we had fallen into the pit of depravity, being cut-off, and separated from our Heavenly Father. We had not known of our glorious creation and our eternal home beyond the drudgery of fallen humanity. But now we know of your great love that you have lavished upon us by lifting us up from a life of immorality, clothing us with your righteousness, and calling us sons of God. We now walk with our heads high with great joy and determination in our hearts, even if we are no longer known by the world, that once rejected you when you came to set the captives free. We are no longer orphans in a callous world left alone to face the many problems in this life. Now we are so privileged to call you, our Father, which art in Heaven, who greatly loves us. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not” (I John 3:1).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 8/10/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. For years we have written out our “to-do” list of things that needed to be accomplished in our businesses, in our ministries, and even now during retirement. Although we found it necessary to re-prioritize our list many times throughout the day, we soon discovered that your priorities always took precedent. We soon discovered that all of lives worries and our drive to accomplish things or acquire things always took our eyes off the most important thing in life, our relationship with you our God. We pray that all your beloved children will seek you first in everything; seeking your counsel, your priorities, your righteousness, and your plans for today. For as you have taught us, take no anxious thought of tomorrow, but only let us accomplish your work in us and the world for today. We know that when we seek you first every morning in meditative prayer, it helps us to refocus on your priorities for our lives. We know that when we allow you to plan our day then everything will be added to us drawing us ever closer to you. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
