Subject: “Help Us to Understand Your Will”

Good morning Heavenly Father. “When the mind overrules the heart.” Oh Lord, you know during these dark days we are faced with many decisions, some of them rather critical, so help us to remember that we cannot always follow the heart on what we desire. The emotions can be very strong leading us to make irrational decisions or decisions not well thought out. It can lead us to close our ears to what your will is in the matter. We pray that we use our mind to follow your will even if our heart, the seat of our emotions, is leading us in a different direction. We believe many people in these dark days are being led by their emotions and not seeking to know your will, which could be contrary to what we desire in our hearts. We as your beloved children sincerely desire to do your will above all things, so we humbly ask that you cause the heart to agree with our mind and make the right decision. We have discovered that we must ask what’s best for others and not necessarily what’s best for us! We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:17).

PRAYERS FOR THE LAST WEEK,  IN CASE YOU MISSED ONE

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 3/26/2024

Subject: “Thank You for Knowing Us”

Good morning Heavenly Father. As we come humbly before you today, we rejoice in knowing that you have always known us. How glorious to understand that even before we were born you knew us. Even before we were born you had planned to conform us to image of your Son. From your initial call that spoke so powerfully to our hearts we knew that we had been justified not by our own works, but by the precious blood of your Son, Jesus Christ, as an atoning sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. Thank you for calling us out of darkness into a marvelous light and giving us the precious gift of the indwelling Spirit, a gift so remarkable that He leads us by the hand step by step into Spiritual maturity. Although we have not been glorified yet, we have the amazing hope that you will complete what you have so miraculously begun. So, no matter what happens in this world that’s becoming darker by the day, we know the light in us is growing brighter day by day. Praise God! Thank you for knowing us. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified” (Romans 8:29-30).

Subject: “I can do all things through Christ”

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, how marvelous are your ways. When our strength is all dried up and we feel we just can’t do anymore, then we see your greatest miracle. For when we turn our labor over to you then we see you working powerfully in and through us. As we completely trust in you, we feel that we are working well beyond our own ability and doing things that absolutely amaze us. We admit that strength and power must come directly from you. Hallelujah. Of course, the real miracle is realized when we learn how to completely let go and trust you to work through us. Help us not to run ahead of you or lag behind but keep in step with the indwelling Spirit for indeed it is your work that you have called us to. A marvelous work indeed. Help us to step out in faith when you lead, knowing that the strength and the ability will both come from you to accomplish the task. If necessary, please remind us to always give you all the credit and all the glory. We pray this in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).

 Subject: “We Recognize Your Wrath”

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, you know that there is a lot of fear and loneliness in the world today. We also hear almost daily of another fake news story, national propaganda, or a false prophecy that unsettling many. It is the later that’s probably most upsetting, especially when we see it come from pastors. We are not really surprised by what we have seen with this recent virus and those that have preceded it, but we are disappointed when we hear our political leaders proclaim that these plagues and woes coming upon fallen humanity are not sent by you. We know they are being sent not only to fulfill biblical prophecy but also to lead people to repentance. Unfortunately, many in our days are more interested in escaping these plagues rather than repenting of their sins. We pray that all of your children will be very vocal about what’s causing these plagues and lead people to repentance and salvation in Christ. For all of your beloved children, we pray for their divine protection and deliverance from their fear that will soon overwhelm the world. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Revelation 6:16-17).

 Subject: “Don’t Miss the Blessing”

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for your many blessings in life, some are small, and others are very large. Some blessings are completely missed because we were not paying attention or was too busy complaining about life. Forgive us for that. We pray, Oh Lord that we will stay close enough to you and to the indwelling Spirit that we will never miss you working in our lives, that we never miss out on an intended blessing. Help us all to realize that many times blessings can come from others. Let our judgment not be so clouded that we end up pushing the blessings away. We have seen it happen so often whereby helping others we have discovered that we have received the greater blessing. Truly nothing happens by accident. Greed and selfishness go through life with few blessings and many heartaches that can lead to depression. On the other hand, Oh Lord, let us not pass through this life and miss so many of its blessings because of our lack of faith or simply because we are too busy to follow your lead. We pray this in the amazing Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing” (I Peter 3:9).

Subject: “Draw Close to God Now”

Good morning Heavenly Father. Lord, Jesus Christ, help us, all of your beloved children, to prepare for the end and your magnificent coming in the clouds. On days like this when the streets are quiet, and the skies are very light grey we feel in our spirit that your coming is closer. As earthquakes, great forest fires, and global pandemics shake the earth we believe that your coming is closer. So, help us to prepare for your coming by walking closer to you in the Spirit with clean hands and a pure heart. Lead all of your beloved children to confess their secret sins today and immediately turn away from them in true repentance. We pray that you will lead and guide us in these days so that we stay productive in your work and not waste our time on frivolous activities. Give us ears to hear your still small voice and sudden tug on our hearts to do your will and not ours. Moreover, help us to stay focused on always doing what’s right instead of being double minded, always shifting from good to bad. We pray this in the loving name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded” (James 4:8).

Subject: “Teach Us How to Forgive”

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, why are our hearts torn so asunder by what we see in the world? We live in a world that is obsessed with remembering the past of others, unwilling to forgive them for past wrongs. We see this in every area of society from politics to news reporting, and to relationships in the home. Our hearts are breaking! Please, Lord, bring great conviction upon everyone and especially your beloved children to understand and practice the rules of forgiveness. We know when we do that there is great power in forgiveness to forget the trespass and be in a position to receive your forgiveness. We pray that you lead them to not to bring it up to the offending person, once forgiven, not to bring it up with anyone else, and most importantly not to dwell on the trespass, which Satan will use to keep the trespass alive and well. We have experienced the great freedom of no longer being burdened by the trespasses of others, which had weighed heavily, and the great joy of your forgiveness for our trespasses. We humbly pray this in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” (Matthew 6:12).

Subject: “Guard Us From Blind Guides”

Good morning Heavenly Father. After nearly seven years of making my personal prayers public, I have felt the weight of making sure that the prayer actually comes from you. And that’s only possible if I am truly in the Spirit, which can take three to four hours of meditation (or longer) in my prayer closet allowing you to direct my thoughts. Although I sincerely want these prayers made public to help others, the greatest benefit is to me and my own Spiritual walk. I cannot even imagine going one full day without prayer and meditation. We pray that we don’t follow the blind guides of the lukewarm church that teaches their people to speak softly, not lose their temper, and refrain from cursing, but ignore the weightier part of your law. A beautiful law that teaches us how to forgive others from the heart, to always speak the truth, and how to turn the other cheek when offended. We pray that we will never become blind guides but rather to lead others in obeying the whole truth so that they can experience the bountiful life in Christ. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“You blind guides! You filter out a gnat, yet swallow a camel! (Matthew 23:24, ISV)
