A Light in the Prevailing Darkness

A Light in the Prevailing Darkness

Two thousand years have come and gone since that first great light appeared in the midst of prevailing darkness lying in a manger. What a horrible foreboding darkness that covered the entire world upon His arrival to shed light to fallen humanity. Since the dawn of creation humanity has rejected the light and made for themselves idols of stone and wood. They chased after every perversion, slaughtered millions through the art of war or enslaving them to a life of toil and rigor.

Their vain philosophies and tribal religions have kept them in deeper bondage to the powers of evil. The whole world was in utter darkness. Yet, One Solitary Figure would untimely change humanity through the power of transformation and the inner light of the indwelling Spirit. “The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned” (Matthew 4:16). Jesus Christ the Son of the living God came and preached good news to the poor, freedom to the prisoners, recovery of sight to the blind, and release to the oppressed. From all the kings who have set, to all the armies who have marched, to all the ships that have sailed, and to all the books that have been written nothing has changed the world more than this One Solitary Figure – Jesus Christ.

For nearly three hundred years this light shined brightly changing man’s heart through total dependence upon God and following closely the teachings of Jesus Christ. But as His teachings were removed from the people and corruption with every manner of evil entered the Catholic Church once again darkness arose with only small pockets of light keeping His message alive. To make matters worse some three hundred years later a greater darkness arose with the arrival of the prophet Mohammed claiming to be the true light. Although they too taught transformation their people have remained in prevailing darkness to this day. Without the true inner light of the Holy Spirit given to those who have accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ they have turned to other methods to help their people change, or at least give the appearance that they have changed. This darkness has spread to this day and threatens world domination. Why does it threaten world domination because it follows the same pattern as the secular world who has also adopted the same teachings used for centuries by the Muslim religion to help their people change.

The first psychiatric hospitals and insane asylums were set up by Muslim physicians in Baghdad, Iraq in 750 AD. Then fifty years later psychiatric hospitals were introduced in Cairo, Egypt. And then in 850 AD Ali ibm Sahl Rabban al-Tabari developed the idea of using clinical psychiatry to treat mentally ill patients. In 1270 famous psychiatric hospitals were built in Damascus and Aleppo Syria. By the Nineteenth Century it had moved to Europe with Soren Kierkegaard writing the first exposition on anxiety and by 1875 William James opened the first experimental psychology laboratory in the United States. Yes my friends, it is the Muslim countries that first founded the hospitals of mental health. It was the Muslim countries that first embraced the teachings of psychology. This darkness has spread throughout the entire world entering every culture and every religion.

By the twentieth century the Catholic Church fully embraced the teachings of psychology soon to be followed by most evangelical churches. What a tragedy to see the world turn from the bright light of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ to the Antichrist gospel of Islam advanced by the secular world. This prevailing darkness must be stopped at all cost. To do so, we must understand that we are being seduced on two fronts. First, as already mentioned is the full embrace of psychology and psychotropic drugs given to a population who struggle daily with emotional and psychological problems. Even the so called Christian world no longer trust in God’s Holy Word to have the answers to their problem, but have also lined up at the counselor’s office receiving their godless counsel and psychotropic drugs. The only true way to fight this is to lead people back to the infallible Word of God. To make disciples! For too long now we have eagerly enticed people into the church with a simple gospel of mercy and love (popularized lately by the new Catholic Pope), while ignoring the weightier teachings needed for making true disciples of Jesus Christ. To become a disciple one must trust in God completely to make them into a new creation believing that they can grow from one degree of glory to another without the help of the secular world. When faced with a multitude of problems, such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, guilt, fear, and etc. we discover that it is essential to know the full council of God from His Holy Word – the Bible.

The second seduction to fight on the field of battle understands the prevailing darkness of socialism. We must look beyond the veneer of social justice and equality for all people. We must look beyond the campaign rhetoric of helping the needy and the disadvantaged as opposed to the greedy capitalist. What does socialism actually deliver? In their quest to spread the wealth they do two things: diminish the middle class and cause all but the wealthy to become totally dependent upon the State for their welfare. Once this has been accomplished by the elite it will be a small step to demand that the entire population obey their new master’s with a collective joy in their heart. If their first demand is that all receive psychological testing and utilize any drug that they see fit to improve humanity there will be little recourse other than acceptance or incarceration. We can fight back now! We must remove all socialist from office or redefine the limitations on what they are allowed to mandate. Most importantly we as Christians need to follow God’s Word by rejecting all assistance from the State and working for our bread. In the 16th Century a bright light shined for awhile by embracing the work ethic found in the Bible.

The only way to dispel the prevailing darkness is by accepting the light of Christ’s glorious gospel and becoming His disciple. As we approach this season of remembrance concerning the birth of Jesus Christ let’s not get caught up in accepting or rejecting the actual date of His birth. Please don’t get caught up in should I or should I not celebrate Christmas but rather spend your time remembering that there was a Great Light that came from heaven to light the life of every man who is willing to accept His Gospel Truth. The only way we can expel the prevailing darkness is to become His disciples allowing His bright light to shine through us. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20). Dear friends, I present to you again the full council of God in my new book: Stand Firm to be used with the Bible for a small Bible Study to make disciples teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded us. God bless you my friends and Merry Christmas.
